My Grandfather was Mose Willis Jean, his father was Edmond Fenton Jean m. Cynthia Ratliff. Moses's siblings were Arnie, Starlyn, Cora,Dora. I remember uncle Arnie as being a tall man with a pleasant personality. Moses' Father was Edmond F. Jean, his father was William Fenton Jean Born 1819 in Lincoln Ct . Tn. I believe his parents were John Jean and Ann Shaw Jean who came to Lincoln County from North Carolina around 1812 to 1815. I believe he is the John Jeans listed in the 1820 census as 28 years of age. He was said to have been from North Carolina.and is listed in several publications of early Tennessee. I think he may be the brother of David Jean of the same era who fought in the War of 1812 but I am not sure. I hope you can help in tracing the North Carolina group and confirming the lineage.

Wow! I am trying to research my family and this is the closest that I have maybe got. My grandfather was John Seamon Fultz born in Taft Tennessee around 1850. I know he moved to Texas later in life. He had one marriage with a daughter Mamie or Maymie. He had a second marriage with my grndmaother Mary Elizabeth Hartman from Battle Creek Texas. I can not seem to locate any information on my grandfather John Seasmon from Taft. Do you know anything?

Thank you!

My Grandmother was Ozemba Fultz who married Mose Willis (sometimes known as Willis Mose)I have some info on the family but not much. I know they came south in the late 1800s from Wisconsin and were settled in Fultz Cove near McMinnville, Tn I do not know how she met my Grandfather who probably did not travel very far. Maybe you have a clue?
