Manor Care Center,
Columbus Junction.
After cremation, burial will be at Trade Lake
Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery,
Frederic, Wis. Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services,
Columbus Junction, is handling the arrangements.
Mrs. Janssen was born Aug. 22, 1914, in Grantsburg, Wis., the daughter of Andrew and Matilda Ekstrum
Baldwin. She married Johnnie
Janssen on April 6, 1935, in Grantsburg, Wis. He preceded her in death in 1979.
She was a farm wife, homemaker and mother and a lifetime member of
Zion Lutheran Church,
Frederic. Her special activity was making large, hand tied, heavy quilts. Many were sent to the Holy Land and many other countries through her church charities. In later years, she made twin size quilts and lap robes for cancer patients and those in retirement and nursing homes. Her greatest joy was spreading love to her family and friends and being a loving grandma.
Survivors include a daughter,
Fern White
Bylo of
Columbus Junction with whom she made her home in the latter years; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, James in 1974; a daughter, JoAnn in 1998; two special sons-in-law,
Walt Yeschick and
Chuck White; and a grandson, David
Janssen in 1969.
