Mary was married to John Sarginson; brother of my gt, gt,grandfather William Samuel Sarginson b 29 Mar 1847 in England d 18 Aug 1916 in Campbellford, Ontario, Canada. William was married to Mary McGuire b 27 Jan 1845 in ireland d17 Sep 1928 in Campbellford, Ontario, Canada.
I have some information on Johns decendants if you are interested. I don't have information on his first wife though but I do have a picture of his family.
I would be very interested in more information on the family in England. I have their parents William b Sep 1807 in England d 1 Jun 1875 in Campbellford, Ontario, Canada. William was married to Jane Whitton b abt 1813 but not sure where. She died 7 Jun 1875 in Campbellford.
Hope to hear from you as this thread is quite old. I just started looking into my tree a year ago.

My Great grandmother was Mary Ann Hodgins, and I have the book Hodgins Kindred Forever. I will try looking up you ancestors in the next few days & let you know what I come up with.....Mine is the "Kayes Family Tree"

James Hodgins and Bridget or Mary Veronica Duffy of NH

Hello,

I'm looking for info on the James Hodgins family of Manchester, NH. Here's what I know:

James Hodgins and Bridget Duffy had a fourth son, James Francis Hodgins, born on 3 Sept 1891 in Manchester, NH. The birth certificate lists both parents as being born in Ireland.

I have not been able to find anything further about the the child's siblings, nor anything further about James and Bridget.

James Francis Hodgins (the son mentioned above) married Grace Lewis of Littleton, NH. On his Social Security Application filed in 1937, he lists his mother as being Mary Veronica Duffy, which is not what his birth certificate says. James Francis Hodgins and Grace divorced at some point, and he moved to Longmont, CO, where he died in 1966.

Any info on this family (James & Bridget, and/or anything on their children) would be greatly appreciated.

My Father, John Henry Hodgins was born in Shirone, County Offaly on January 13, 1924. His father was William Hodgins the youngest son of Johnny Hodgins from Holly Park Brosna, County Offaly Irelend. Any connection???

6 Oct 1912, Jacob K. ZIMMERMAN died at The Elms Hotel in Excelsior Springs, Mo., age about 70. He died leaving neither widow nor will but an estate worth more than a million dollars. It read like a serial in the Kansas City Star as people sent their family trees in hopes of proving they were a legitimate heir. In all, there were twenty-seven heirs, one of them was my gg grandfather, John Hancock MARTIN, a tailor in Kansas City and "nephew of the half-blood" to Mr. ZIMMERMAN. Also on the list of nieces and nephews was Laura HODGINS but no address was published. Jacob K. ZIMMERMAN had three sisters - whose names I don't know - and I presume Laura to have been one of their descendants.

Here is my family relationship to Jacob K. ZIMMERMAN: Jacob's mother was Hannah (Clark) MARTIN (1798-1875), widow of Thomas D. MARTIN; Hannah and Thomas MARTIN had one son who lived to adulthood: William Davison MARTIN (29 Jul 1820-2 Mar 1896) father of John Hancock MARTIN. Hannah was widowed in 1823 and was remarried (date unknown) to John ZIMMERMAN and Jacob K. was born about 1841. The MARTIN family, and allied lines, are to be found in Dauphin, and Lebanon Counties of Pennsylvania. A newspaper article places Jacob ZIMMERMAN's burial at "his old home in Hanover, Pa." Assuming the reference is to the town rather than several small townships, this would be York County.

I hope to locate a HODGINS descendant who knows more of our common history as well as the story of the inheritance. I have collected newspaper articles and am glad to share what I know.

I do know that she had 2 son's named John brn abt 1852 Ga,and Abraham Chadwick brn abt 1858 GA.Her husband John Chadwick was believed to been brn abt 1820's Ga,and have heard that he was a Mason,but what kind of Mason,brick/block or a member of a Masonic Lodge. I also believe she was the mother of at least 7 children,with 3 still living in 1900,possible Abe,John,and James Chadwick.

Mrs. Minnie Hodgins, aged 30, died at her home on Ridge street, Thursday evening at 6:30 o'clock. She had been ill for six months. At her request the rare operation of panhysterectomy was performed on her last Monday afternoon, but it was of no avail, although she survived .... days. She will be buried by .... and the funeral will occur ....[unreadable].
