Hi Lisa,

Sorry about that...my name is Natalie. I'm just starting out on the ancestry compilation of our family. I only know bits and pieces from what Grandpa Bob (Robert) has told me. I just came across your post about Charles K and responded, didn't realize you're connection. I'm not looking for anything particular right now, but thank you. I'm still figuring out how the website functions, etc. Is it possible to view other trees on here or do I have to have a paid subscription to do that? Well, anyways, happy hunting and maybe I'll get back to you at some point with questions!

Hi Margie
Thankyou for replying to my posting. Unfortunatly the Mary Hirt that you have in your list appears not to be the same as my Mary Hirt.
Jacob and Barbara (Haller) Hirt in Switzerland

I am searching for the birthplace in Switzerland for Jacob Hirt, born 2 July 1830, what were his parents names, and I need the birthplace in Switzerland for his wife, Barbara Haller who was born 24 Jan 1840. Jacob immigrated to the US in 1856 and Barbara immigrated to the US in 1868 with children: Jacob Jr. age 15 born 1852, Christian age 5 born 1863 and Barbara age 2 born 1866. I believe that Barbara the wife was not the mother of Jacob Jr. as she would have been only age 12 at the time of Jr's birth. So need to know the name of the mother of Jr. Your help is very much appreciated and I will exchange research in Switzerland for research in Kent Co., Mi.

Sandie Hirt

I would like to make contact with anybody having family ties to the Hirt families from Franklin County, Indiana.

My great great grandmother was Maria Hirt, born in Jan 1840, Oldenburg, Indiana. She married Joseph Ante in Cincinnati, Ohio.

I have recently found the photo album that belonged to the daughter of Maria and my great grandmother, Theresa Marquardt. The album consists of many pages showing Hirt's from Indiana. I hope there is someone out there that can help me identify the faces in these pictures. Some of the names in these pictures are Jacob, Barbara, Alma, Ben, Francis.

Dan
Hi Flete,

I believe that I may be a decendent of Joseph Hirt through, I think, might be his oldester daughter Maria. (I still have found no proof of this yet) This is what I know, Maria Hirt, who married Joseph Ante, was born in Oldenburg, Indiana around Jan 1840. A very old picture album from my great grandmother Theresa Ante has photos were some of the pictures have the titles of "Aunt Barbara's home in Indiana", "Uncle Jacob's home in Indiana" and "Cousin Joe Hirt Farm". Based on the 1900 census for Theresa Hirt, Theresa had 9 children, seven of whome were still living. This means that there were more children than listed in the 1860 and 1870 census for Joseph and Theresa. There are many other pictures. I would love to hear from you and learn what you have found out abouut the Hirts.

Dan

Margaret Hirt, Spring Creek Twp., Yourns, Elk County, Pa

I'm putting together a booklet about former rural school teachers, once of Elk and adjoining counties and Margaret Hirt's name shows up as being a teacher at Yourns/Yorns which was a very rural school located near what was then the location for a possible saw mill in 1911 when timber was being cut out in that area. After December 21, 1911 her name does not show up on any of the lists of rural school teachers in Elk County. I would like to know more about Margaret's background as a rural teacher. Hopefully a picture of Margaret when she was a young rural school teacher might be found and shared.

Where is she buried? There is a note in our family history of a Ethel Hirt that was buried in a Dodge family plot and the body was later moved to Webster, NY. We also have family in Indiana.

I have no connection to the HIRT line I was helping a cousin do her family tree oneof her Marks married a Hirt in Cincinnati. She wasn't aware of the Hirt / Mark connection.
Tom in Florida

Ethel Hirt/ Hirt Family

I am searching for info about my Great Grandmother, Ethel Hirt. She was born in 1892, Springfield, Indianna.
She was killed on Sept. 18, 1926, in a hurricane, while living in Miami, Florida. My G-G-father , Elmer Shuck/Schuck was her 2nd marriage. 1st husband unknown, but she had children during this marriage that remained with their father and I don't think she ever saw them again.
If anyone has any info to help me along it would be wonderful.
Thank you,
S.B.C
