I took a quick look at the 1881 census and found an Eleanor Mounsey 22 domestic servant in Clifton which is near Penrith. I think this one may be yours. There is also a James Hird butcher near Kirkby Stephen who might be yours. There is still a butcher named Hird so when I go there I will see whether they are descended.
