The parents of John W. Hight were James Alexander Hight and Mary Jane Rippee. I believe that John W. Hight was their second child. I have a marriage date for James A. Hight and Mary J. Rippie of March 21, 1850 but I don't know the source of this date.

The parents of James A. Hight were John H. Hight and Jane Baker. John H. Hight and Jane Baker were married in Maury County, TN on July 30, 1829 and moved to Missouri in 1839. John H. Hight was the sheriff of Wright County for several years.

The parents of John H. Hight were Richard Hight and Phebe Brien. They were married in Campbell County, VA on April 27, 1810. Phebe was a widow living with a daughter, Amelia Seuberth, in Wright County in 1860.

Jane Baker's father was Andrew Baker. Andrew was living in Wright County in 1850. The 1850 census gives his age as 66 and his birth place as NC.

James Alexander Hight remained in Wright County and served on the Union side during the Civil War. His parents and his living brothers moved to Batesville, AR about 1861. Two of his brothers served on the Confederate side during the War.
