I am not sure if this is the correct Fred Harms.....would have married Velma later in life and they had a daughter Georgi Harms. Fred also had a child, Herbert Kenneth, with a woman in the New York area. Herbert Kenneth was my father.

Fred's parents lived in Devers, Texas. They are the people who actually raise my father.

Fred Harms was my husbands Great Great Great Grandfather. His grandfather is Sudderth Albert Harms, father is Rickey Dan Harms. If you have any more family information it would be most appreciative.

Thanks!

Amanda,

I believe your Fred Harms is different than the one we are all related to.

I am pretty sure that this Fredrick Harms is the same as ours. Unless I am greatly mistaken, Fredrick Harms had a son named John David, who had a son named 'Bud' Albert Harms. If this is right then I have the right Fredrick Harms. If I am again incorrect I apologize for the inconvenience.

Again thanks for your help.

Yes that is the correct Fredrick David Harms, but his father was not Suddeth. His father was Jakob Harms and mother Katharina Schramm. He had 3 brothers: Jakob, Johannes and Heinrich. Both parents died within days of each other when Fredrick was only a month old. All boys were raised by Jakob's sister Mary. The 3 oldest boys moved to Chicago and were shoemakers. If you would like all this information, please email me at ldyofpeace@sbcglobal.net. I have been researching my family history for over 20 years.

I just re-read what you had typed and I did not read it correctly. I thought you were saying Suddeth was Fredrick's grandfather. My mistake. Or as my kids would say: My Bad!
