Bill, what is the status of the Hard times newsletter?
In its pages of research, is any proof noted of the Captain Kidd theory?
I have reason to doubt it due to the fact that Captain Kidd swore in court that he was born in 1654. That would make him only 11 years old in 1665 when our James Ist was a fourteen year old orphan.
Thanks for any light you might shed on this perplexing mystery.

Bill-

I would definitely appreciate some help. I am trying to locate information pertaining to my great great grandfather, Frank Williard Hard SR. My family roots for generations have been from the New England area. My grandfather on my Mom's side was born in Fairlee Vermont. It is from this branch that I search for Frank Williard Hard SR. I am looking for his parents, wife, and any other pertinent information you may have. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to give. If you have any information please e-mail me at the address listed below. My name is Mike.

A descendant of John Joseph Hard of Sringfield/Mansfield, Tex., I began work on the Hard genealogy in the 1970's but dropped off until recently (2004). I have lots of information going back to Connecticut ca. 1650. I am in the process of verifying information & sources I received from other family members in the '70s. I am satisfied with my information up to the existence of Melville Thomas Hard (b. 10 Aug. 1808) , m. to Abigail Ward, but things get "fuzzy" about the tie with Eli Hard and Laura Thomas (said to be parents of Melville Thomas Hard). Many first names are carried through to my father Gary Baldwin Hard, b. 1901 in Denton County, Texas, d. 1970 in California. I am now 69, still living in France since 1967, so hope to "correct" what I have to be able to pass it on to other family members for future research. I am particularly interested in Melville Thomas Hard's will (he died 30 June 1878) probated 24 Nov. 1894 in Newark NJ w/ref. 8, p. 531, Bond 12, p. 484. Do you know of a copy? I would also like to know more about the Hard Newsletter. Thanks for your comments. Barbara Hard Allemand
