Anton (1818-1906) came from Prussia to Buffalo, NY abt. 1855. His wife was Elizabeth Hestrop (married about 1847). Anton seems to have been related to a Henrik Gottschalk (d. 1902) who was a tailor in the City of Buffalo. I have copies of each of their wills. Anton & Henrik may have had a father named Frederick whose wife was Ann Catherine (died 1846). According to Henrik's will, he had a cousin Henry Bramsche from "Bohnte Konigreich Preussen Hanover Furstin Thirn Osnabruck". Sound familar to anyone? I have bits and pieces on various Gottschalks in Buffalo, NY I will share. Anton would have been my mother-in-laws ancestor.
