My ggrandfather Louis(Ludwig) Gottschalk (Godschalk) had a brother Frederick and lived in Terre Haute. Both served in the Civil War where Louis name changed. They Imm in 1849 from Germany when Louis was 6 and Frederick was 4. Frederick had a son Henry A.$/12/1876. Is this your Frederick? If so, I have a lot more info.
