My Gilbert connection goes back to Joshua Gilbert, b. abt. 1794 in NC. He married Margaret Purcell in March 1818 in Daviess County, IN and eventually moved to Knox County, IN which is where I grew up. They had several children, including Jas., Amos and Hiram. She died around 1839. Hiram is my GG grandfather. I have never been able to identify Joshua's parents or go further back than him. Do you know Joseph Hiram Gilberts children, parents, etc? Perhaps there is a connection. Would appreciate any information you might have. Ron May
