I am looking for any information on the parents and siblings of John FLANAGAN/FLANNIGAN;b. ca 1827 who said he came from Armagh, NIR. John emigrated to Canada; married Matilda GALLAWAY on March 19, 1846 in Twp. of West Gwillimbury, Ontario, Canada. Eleven children, all born in or near Walkerton, Ontario: Ann Jane (Thomas RICHARDSON; William (Elizabeth ADAIR); Elizabeth (Joseph FLETCHER); Margaret (
Ambrose KENNEY); James (Euphemia); Catherine (William APPERLEY); Charlotte (HERBERT FLETCHER); Joseph (Christina); May Ann (Aaron E. SHANTZ); Serinda (James FREEDY); John (Keziah FREEDY, 2nd Elizabeth JEANOTTE).
Any help will be appreciated. Lois Leggott

Dear Lois:

I found my Flanagans in the 1851 census for Stoneham, Quebec. Because the children born before 1824 listed Ireland as their birth place and those born after that year listed New Brunswick as their birth place, we have now learned that our Flanagans migrated to Canada in 1824 (or near then).

It isn't much but it's better than nothing.

Sincerely,
Dan Flanagan
Austin, Texas

I can help you a bit on the two Flanagan's that married Freedy's. My great grandmother was an Ester Freedy married to an Ephraim Bryant. Esther's brother Randolph was the father of the two siblings who married Flanagan's. Please contact me.

In my family tree I have John Flanagan m. Matilda Gallaway, and they had a son named Davis James. Possibly his correct name is James David? As I have Euphemia Cook as his second wife. First wife Margaret Cook (Euphemia's sister). I have quite abit of information on the decedents of David James (or James David?) Would you be interested in this information? John Flanagan and Matilda Gallaway would be my 4th great grandparents.
Thank you!
