Trying to make contact with descendants of James Flanagan who married Mary Ann Nolan at Ste-Agathe, Lotbinièe County in Québec, 02 Oct 1883. Ms Nolan's parents were John Nolan and Mary Gilmour or Guilman. Mr Flanagan's parents were William Flanagan and Ellen McCabe. Wondering what became of those Flanagans. Message from Ste-Foy, Qc

Do you know where they were from in Iowa. My family was from Iowa near Davenport. My brother is sending me the info. Those are common Irish names and are all in my family.I don't know of any distant cousins marrying someone in Canada, but my brother may.

I have no idea where they went. It's about a marriage entry (02-Oct-1883)that says Mr. Flanagan is from Iowa. His wife Mary Ann Nolan, his parents William Flanagan and Ellen McCabe and his probable gparents James Flanagan and Catherine Muldoon. Miss Nolan was from Ste-Agathe, Lotbinière Co, Québec.

I received some info from my brother that a cousin researched. It is a long shot, but worth a try. She listed a John M. Flanagan who married a Catherine Castlelarn in Canada. She died and he remarried a Mary Anne Weldon in 1884 and they had two children. A son Lewis born in 1885 in Marengo Iowa. and a daughter born in 1887 in Marengo. She could have gotten names and dates wrong. Some of her info doesn't match with what my grandfather wrote down in 1954. Anyway, Check Marengo Iowa there were a bunch of Flanagans there at that time.

The dates mentioned would be about right, but the names are not the ones I would be expecting.
