I'm a descendent of James Flanagan, who we think left Co. Leitrim in the early 1800's and settle on the slopes of Benbulbin in the townland of Keilty. He married of Honera McGoldrick of Rosses Point. They had 9 children including my great-grandfather, Michael (born 1821) and Terrance (born 1821). Terrance left for America (we think, New York)and Michael had 7 children including, my grandfather, Thomas Flanagan who was Mayor of Sligo and Patrick Joesph Flanagan who was also Mayor of Sligo.
