He married Jeanne Vaucher Apr 20, 1907. On Aug 23, 1914 he joined the Foreign Legion. He fought in North Africa. In 1919 he returned to Nancy to live. In 1925 he and Jeanne divorced and he may have been living in Toul. By 1946 he is remarried and has 2 daughters, one named Suzanne. I am trying to find information on Suzanne and her family and try to make contact with her relatives in the US.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was doing some research of the Fix family and visited three springs last October(2007). We were in the town and a women who headed up the hisortical society was kind enough to talk with my family. She had advised the Alfaretta Hoffman had just passed the previous week. She took us to her grave, fresh flowers still on the ground. How unfortunate to have missed her. My father was Frank E. Fix, son of Mack Shartles, Grandson of John Wesley, and Great Grandson of Johan. If you or anyone you know would share information or old photos,I am very interested in talking.

I was excited to find some actual family names I recognize!! My husband, Bryan is related to your father's brother, Sewall Jacob Fix. I am trying to research Sewall along with other family members. I would like to communicate with you and share information. I keep finding Jacob C Fix instead of Charles Jacob Fix in the Census records. I'm trying to validate Charles Jacob's parents names. I found a lot of Fix families living in the same area of Buffalo NY during the 1870-1900 census records. Please email me at rhondafix@hotmail.com. I'd love to hear from you! Rhonda

I am also researching this family. Anton J. Fix is my husband's paternal grandfather. I am trying to find info. on Anton's father, John (Johann) Fix and his wife Barbara Ochs.

Would like to share stories if there are any remembered. For instance, Anton Fix married Catherine Fritz. There's a story that "Katie" Fix made and sold bootleg gin to the railroad men. She outlived three husbands, Anton being the first.

Any validation to these stories or any other info. on the them?

I now believe my great grandfather MARTIN FICKS/FIKS/FIX (1874-1915) may have had 6 siblings:

1-REGINA FIX (married HENRY BIKO/BEKO in North Dakota)

2-SHAM/SCHAMEL/SAMUEL ? FIX and ELIZABET (some children were HULDA born abt. 1895-97, ANN abt. 1888, KONRAD abt 1890)

3-JOHAN/JOHANNES (born abt. 1854) and son JOHAN (born abt. 1881)
-may have gone to Canada

4-unknown FIKS/FIX and wife MARIA (born abt 1877- children BERTO/ALBERT? born abt 1895-97 and ALMA abt 1897-99)

5-GEORGE FIX and AUGUSTE LEIMERT (children ADOLPH born July 13, 1884 and CARL born Dec. 5, 1882 in Russia)

6-JOSEPH FIX and EMILY SCHACTER (daughter OLGA born Sept. 7, 1881)

There may be more or someone above may be a cousin. If you think you are related, please contact me. Part of this family seems to have disappeared. They sometimes said they were born in US, Russia, Germany, Poland- so you never know if you've got the right family. MARTIN and the first 4 names on the list are connected because they met each other at the docks in NY and Philadelphia and lived at the same address briefly in Philadelphia . The last 2 names were in the same Russian villages my great grandma and grandma came from.

William Fix married Iva Catherine Wolfe

After 3 years of searching, I've decided my particular branch of the "Wolfe" family must have just been dropped out of the sky onto this earth, as they don't seem to be related to any other "Wolfe's" that anyone else is researching. So I'm going to try this from a new angle - the in-laws. William Fix's father-in-law was Thomas Wolfe. This Thomas Wolfe is my great great grandfather & my brick wall. Here's what I know:

Thomas Wolfe (I don't know his whole name)
born: 9/25/1850 in Missouri or Arkansas
died: 9/4/1918 in Clark County IL
buried: Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Clark County IL
Married: Sarah Elizabeth Huffman
marriage date: 1872 in Clark County IL

Their children:
Iva Catherine Wolfe - born 10/13/1884
married: WILLIAM FIX
John Franklin Wolfe - born 2/15/1873
married: Leticia Lowery
Daniel Edward Wolfe - born 10/26/1875
married: Sarah Catherine Janney
Ida Jane Wolfe - born 2/7/1878
married: Oscar Otto Lindsay
Lue Emma Wolfe - born 5/13/1882
married: John Sneed
William Harry Wolfe - born 3/10/1887
married: Flora Belle Tyhurst
Amos Orlie Wolfe (my grandfather) - born 12/14/1889
married: Elizabeth Barrett
Betty Mae Wolfe - born 2/11/1893
married: Frank L. Cunningham

I have a lot of information on the Amos Wolfe branch of this family. I am wanting to share/trade information on the other siblings and on Thomas Wolfe & Sarah Huffman. And I am particularly interested in breaking thru the Thomas Wolfe wall to find out the names of the generation before him.

If anyone can help me, I will be very grateful. Thanks!

Fix Family Descendents - Philadelphia

Hi all. I'm researching the family of Henry Fix (b 1868 PA).
Was married to Delia (Burke) Fix in 1896. Had the following children: Florence (1898), May (1899) Mildred (1909), Celia (1911) and Mariam (1915). The family remained in Philadelphia at least until 1920. That is were I lose track of them. If anyone had additional information on this family line, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks! Chris

Congratulations on your decision to start up a FIX dna project. I joined the KIRCHER DNA project a bit over a year ago myself. I'm sure your as excited as I was, and hopefully will be at least as productive as my involvement.

IRT to your project. I have a gg g/m, Louisa FIX, born 1838 in Baden, Germany. She married Frederick Kircher in Whitside County Illinois in 1859. I have her children and burial data, but absolutely NOTHING on her family.

Please, keep me in mind should one of your fellow FIX researchers have any information on this woman. I would be most happy to share/exchange data.

Again, good luck with your project and congratulations on being on the cutting edge of genealogical research.

Cordially,
Tommy Kircher
Fort Worth, Texas
