Sarah "Sally" Rush Fix, 91,
formerly of Mercersburg, Pa.,
died Wed., May 7, 2008 at Erie Presbyterian Lodge.
She was born May 12, 1916 in Humbert, Pa., daughter of the late L. Scott and Mayme A. Courtney Rush.
A 1933 graduate of Somerset High School,
she attended cosmetology school in Johnstown, Pa.
and was a licensed beautician.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Mercersburg, where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed cooking and knitting. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Lewis Edgar Fix, in 1981;
three sisters, Dorothy St. Clair,
Alyce Roberts
and Louise Foreman;
and two brothers, Thomas Rush.
and Robert Rush.
Survivors include her daughter,
Marilyn L. "Marnie" of Erie,
and several nieces and nephews.
A reception of friends will be held Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m.
at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 606 E. 38th St., with a memorial service immediately following at 7 p.m. The Rev. Bernard A. Bischoff will officiate.
Burial at a later date will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Erie Presbyterian Lodge Dental Fund
or Erie Presbyterian Lodge Auxiliary,
2628 Elmwood Ave., Erie, PA 16508; or to Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 606 E. 38th St., Erie, PA 16504.
