I do live in VT, in Barre. I went to cosmetology school in the 80's in Claremont though. I still have some cousins who live there, although not on the Fassett side.

My mom said that Eldon was married and had children. She doesn't know much about them though.

I have an email into a cousin of ours who works on geneology to see if she has more info.

He was my grandfather's brother.

So their parents were Volney (sr.) and Edna(LaPorte) Fassett.

I don't believe he was every married, and I don't know where he died. I will see if I can find any more information from my mother. I will reply to this thread if I find anything.

Some more information that I can remember about Hayden Fassett....his wife was Eleanor(her maiden name was Friot I believe). They had many children and I am sure they were all raised in Hardwick Vermont. I hope this helps you Denee. I know the original post on this thread was several years before I am sending this reply so I hope it gets to you.

As fas as I can remember Eldon was my great uncle. He passed away in the late 1960's or early 1970's from diabetes related illness. This is what I have been told as I would have been too young to remember him personally.

Patrick FASSETT and Sarah REYLEY were my 10th Greatgrandparents. I'm a desendant of his son Benjamin thur their son Benjamin and Lydia COPELAND thur their son Samuel and his 2nd wife. Thur Lucy FASSETT and Ebenezer COPELAND who were my 3rd great grandparents.

Does anyone know anything about an Earl Fassett or Fasset born about 1888 and living in Curwensville, Clearfield, Co., PA?

He was a friend of my great Uncle Byron Francis Lines (1888-1935) ("Frank"). Earl was apparently killed in World War One while serving in France. I have several photos of the two of them together.

Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

I am searching for descendants of Philo Fassett b. Dec 1874 in OH d. 22 Dec 1912 buried at Harvard Grove Cemetery, Cleveland, OH. Philo married a Cassabelle Morrow and they had one known daughter Phyllis (according to the 1910 Miracode Index). Can't locate Philo, Cassabelle or Phyllis on any other census. Philo is the son of DeForest M. Fassett b. 1847 in VT son of Lorenzo F. Fassett b. 1817 in VT and Martha M. Chamberlin b. 1813 in VT. Martha is the sister of Philo E. Chamberlin who was quite well known in Ohio and N. Michigan and co-owner of the Northern Transportation Co. (steamship lines)

Actually her first name was spelled as "Edee." Edee Robertson & Jonas Bartlett were my 5th great-grandparents. Edee's parents were Edee Fassett & James Robertson Jr. Edee Fassett was born October 7, 1770 in Groton, Middlesex County, MA; died January 9, 1808. I descend from Jonas & Edee's son, Elias Lyman Bartlett.

I only have two lines with you, and this is such an old post, you probably already know this, but:

Patrick Fassett married Sarah Reyley. two sources I have listed for him is "Irish Settlers in America vol. 1" and "The Follet-Dewey Fassett-Safford Ancestry" by Henry Parker Ward.

His son Benjamin married 1. Elizabeth Park and 2. Eleanor Adams. Two sources I have listed for him are "Concord Vital Records" and "The Fassett Genealogy"

The following information was sent to me, by the assistant, to the town clerk of Winchester, N.H.: Found in records there, pertaining to the surname of Fassett:
'John born August 14, 1785 (?m.Susannah Dutton) Lois born March ... 1809 John Fassett married Susannah Dutton James Fasitt Vol. 14 ... John Fassett married Susannah Dutton

I know she must have been the same Susan. There were so many John Fassetts and this is the only one married to this women.

I hope the Winchester Town Clerk info is helpful.

Can anyone help find a Penelope FASSETT who emigrated from Guernsey, UK in 1978

We know she married a fella called Steve (surname unknown) in 1980 to 1990

They went on to live in Saskatchewan and Steve was a shoe seller

We think there are 3 children

Penelope's parents were hoteliers on Guernsey and bought a hotel in Vancouver.

My great grandfather was Hayden Fassett from the central Vermont area(I think!) My paternal grandfather was Kenneth Volney Fassett(died July 1, 2000) and my dad was Chester Kendall Fassett (April 10,1942 to April 26, 2005). My grandmother was Mildred Fassett(died 2007). I have 1 Aunt Jean Fassett (Baleau)in Deland, Florida and 3 uncles in 3 other states.

In 1852 Noah Chittenden Fassett, his sister Ann Fassett Germain, her husband Parker Germain and their three children aged 6 to 2 left Johnstown, Ohio, for California to participate in the Gold Rush. Between 1852 and 1862 they (and another sibling, Harris Harding Fassett who joined them in 1854) wrote 103 letters to their parents and other siblings who remained in Ohio. The letters were kept by the parents and descendants in Ohio and were transcribed in the 1970s. The letters have now been scanned, edited and their texts have been placed on the internet. We may have corresponded. Henry Edgar Fassett was my grandfather. Some of the information on the Fassett site is incorrect. My grandfather died in New Kensington, PA he was buried in Beechtree Cemetery along with my grandmother and some of the children. Edgar Kenneth Fassett was my father. The father of Mary Munroe, William Munroe, was captured during a battle in Scotland and sent to America by Cromwell about 1651. Maybe William Munroe and Patrick Fassett came on the same ship. The son of Patrick married the daughter of William. Seems probable. They both lived in Lexington,MA.

Hope you can help us. We are searching for the ancestry of Dorothy ( ? ) Munroe of Lexington,MA. She may have been a daughter of Joseph Fassett b. 2 Oct.1672.Dorothy was born around 1700 or a few years before. She married Daniel Munroe son of William Munroe and Mary Ball. Daniel died 1734 in Lexington. In 1739 the children of Daniel & Dorothy Munroe (Daniel,Jr., Mary, Jedediah, Sarah & John) were placed with a guardian--Joseph Fassett (Senior or junior we don't know). Why would he take them in unless they were his grandchildren or his sister's children?
Does the Fassett Genealogy list other children than Joseph,Jr. for Joseph & Mary Munroe?

The Fassett Genealogy by Katherine Fassett Schuster p. 86, has a Betsey Fassett b. 28 Sep 1875. Parents are William and Zerviah (Meacham) Fassett. Does not state where Betsey was born. Wiliam is listed as b. in Canterbury, Windham Co., CT.

I am the only son of Cecil and Violet Fassett. He and my mother were divorced when I was a baby. The last I heard of Cecil, he moved from Cheyenne, WY to Newcastle, WY. He died in 1956, but I've been unable to obtain a death certificate.

My 7th Great Grandparents were at Patrick Fassett born about 1628 in Scotland and died 7 Nov 1713 in Billerica, Massachusetts. His wife was a Sarah who died 15 Jan 1739/1740 in Bedfdord Massachusetts.

I tried in vain to get a copy. I finally got the local LDS center to get the microfilm from Salt Lake and sat there and copied a page at a time.

I am currently working on a project to put all of Katherine's book into a genealogy database and post in online, www.fassettfamilytree.com.

CHERRY VALLEY — Mrs. L. Virginia Fassett, 70, passed away Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at M.I. Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.
She was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Burlington Flats, the daughter of Harold and Alice (Jenkins) Pierce.
On Oct. 7, 1972, she married Francis LaDrue Fassett in South Valley. He predeceased her on Dec. 25, 1993.
Mrs. Fassett had worked as a waitress at various locations including the Tryon Inn in Cherry Valley.
She is survived by two sons, Mr. Antonio Rivas of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mr. John Rivas of Cherry Valley; six daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Regina) Miller of Cherry Valley, Ms. Jane O'Brian, Ms. Cynthia O'Brian, and Ms. Marguerite Berberick, all of Cherry Valley, Ms. Patricia Hannah of Vail, Ariz., and Ms. Linda Munchine of Tennessee; a brother, Eugene Pierce of Binghamton; two sisters, Laura Poulson of Sharon Springs and Betty Roberts of Richfield Springs; 16 granchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fassett was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred Bowen and Lillian Cornell, two brothers, Harry Pierce and Charles Pierce.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at 11 a.m. in the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley with the Rev. Wilfred Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherry Valley Cemetery, Cherry Valley.
Calling hours will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
Contributions in Mrs. Fassett's memory may be made to the Cherry Valley Emergency Squad, Cherry Valley, N.Y. 13320.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.
