The FamilySearch.org pilot site has death certificates online for
Hiram DUNHAM & for
Rhea MELKE.
Hiram
DUNHAM (23 May 1865,
Milford,
Clermont Co., OH - 24 Aug. 1935, St. Elizabeth Hospital,
Dayton,
Montgomery Co., OH), husband of Anna, son of
Charley, b. Scotland, & Eva, b. England, per informant Herman
DUNHAM. [Was Eva a first wife and Elizabeth on the 1880 census a second wife, or was she Eva Elizabeth / Elizabeth Eva? Census of 1880 says Charles was born in
Ohio and his father in
New Jersey.]
Rhea MELKE (10 Jan. 1895,
Dayton, OH - 24 Dec. 1948,
Dayton, OH) widow of Charles, daughter of
Hiram DUNHAM, b. Cincinnati, & Kathryn
STOCKERT, b. Dayton. [Kathryn does not fit the census data and death certificate, where Hiram's wife was Anna.]
In 1880,
Milford,
Clermont Co., OH, DUNHAM:
Charles, 41, OH NJ OH, cooper
Wf. Elizabeth, 41, NJ NJ NJ
Ch. b. OH:
Hiram G., 15; Charles T., 13; Josiah, 10;
Elva E., 7 (female); Jenny F., 5; Earl, 2.
In 1900, Hiiram G. had been married eight years, and he & wf. Anna had Anna R., 4, b. Jan. 1896; &
Hiram G., 1, b. June 1898. In 1910,
Hiram G. & Hanah [Anna?] had
Rhea, 14,
Hiram, 11, & Joseph, 2.
In Dayton, OH, 1920, MELKE, Charles, 25, OH OH IRL; Anna R., 22, OH OH OH; son James, six months. Rita MELKE was 9 in 1930,
Montgomery Co., OH.
I don't know how to reconcile the various discrepancies. Anna
Rhea or
Rhea Anna
DUNHAM was probably born in Jan. 1896, since they were more likely to have her age correct when she was only four instead of later. She was probably 24 instead of 22 in 1920.
