You mentioned Sofia Magana from Purepero Michuacan Mexico. My name is Raul Magana born in California . My grandfather was born in Purepero Mexico. His name is Pedro Magana he migrated to U.S. in early 1900's he passed away at age 91 in 2000. My great grandfather migrated to Purepero Michuacan Mexico and his name was Hipolito Magana died in Purepero 1945 . Talking with my father Cresencio Magana he remembers a cousin named Sofia Magana a cousin to our grandfather Pedro Magana . Please respond just to match information.

Hello all I'm Sean Duarte after reading a few of these it seems like alot of you may be related to my grate grandparents Manuel Ruiz Duarte and Lina Diaz Duarte. My Grandfather is Manuel D Duarte Jr. They moved from Mexico and went to El Paso Tx and From there to Pecos Tx Were I was born to Jesse L Duarte and Elva C Duarte. I just call my grandpa Manuel D Duarte Jr to conferm that this in fact my great grandparents. I'm amazed to here about this. My grandpa would like to get in touch with the person posting this.

Hi,
I'm Jose Duarte. My mother's family is from Purepero. They all moved to Uruapan, Taretan and Zamora Michoacan. Many members of her family were farmers and carniceros. We also have relatives by the last name of Magaña, Melgoza and Benitez. Vicente Benitez used to be the big Cura in the Catholic Church of Purepero many years ago.
Hope you find more Duarte people.

Read all your back and forth posts re: Duarte family. I too have a Manuel Duarte but it's not the same as yours, sadly. I just thought I would share something that the 3 of you might be interested in. I found this site this morning through facebook it's www.tribalpages.com and it's free. It lets you creat your own website to post your family tree to the web and then you can invite others to come see it and those that are invited can add to the tree, pictures too. So the 3 of you can creat one website that you can all update and get to know more about each others families. I just started it but it looks great. I have my tree on other sites but none that I know of lets you invite others to view or add. Let me know how it works out for you. Take care. Rosanna

I have is a last Maiden Name of Duarte who married into the Talamantes family. She gave birth to one I know of Donaciana who married into the Don Julio Martinez. They migrated into the US and settled in the city of Santa Monica. Children were Feliz, Jennie, Francis, and Beatrice. Jennie married my Grandfather Candelario Gallardo.

I'm not the Cherie you are looking for. I'm only 21. I know there's at least 2 separate Duarte families in Fall River Ma, happened to run into the other side at school that had no relation to me. Keep looking, you are bound to find something. Also I added a tree, so if you can view it, it may help. Good luck!

my family is from navajoa sonora mexico. my mothers grandfather was alfonso duarte born in guaymas and married guadalupe arce. they had 2 or 3 children one of whom died at a young age. maria luz was one of them who died in about 1975 and she was married to francisco salido. together they had 2 or 3 children one of whom is named marcos salido duarte and the other is maria or carmen cristina. the other is my grandfather alejandro duarte who married bertha perez lopez. they had 12 children. bertha perez lopez was the child of alejandro perez gomez and maria lopez. maria lopez was born in arizona. i hope this can help one of us or both of us.

I'm the granddaughter of Carrie Ferreira who married Manuel Fernandes. Manuel Duarte was her stepfather.

I have been able to identify many of the siblings of Jesuina Santos and have found the descendants of several of them. I also have some info on their ship transit from Madeira to Hawaii, along with a copy of the type of contract they signed to work on a sugar plantation. Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. I would be happy to share the information I've accumulated about the Ferreira and Duarte sides of the family that link to Jesuina Santos. My relatives come from the Ferreira side. I don't know much about descendants or ancestors on the Duarte side except for Mary Duarte who married Manuel Rezente. Given that the posts from sallisouza deal with the Rezentes, I suggest the three of us share what we know since we seem to be distant "cousins." I have been using Reunion software to build my family tree which currently includes a lot of relatives on my mother's side. Hello....Did I read this right your name is Cherie? My mother was Cherie Meshelle Duarte. I have no info on her what so ever, only I was told she was born in Stickney S.D.
sept 14,1924. She may have had 2 sisters. I feel she may have been adopted not sure about the sisters. If you have any info about her or her sisters I would love to know. My mother passed away almost 2yrs ago and nobody seems to know anything about her.

I would like to start a family tree, as I can't find any for my family online. Also I'd like to know how far back my family goes. I don't need to know about family from my mom's generation to mine, I know most of my cousins from my mom's siblings. Here's what I have so far -

Alen (I don't remember if and what their last names where changed to. They where all Duarte before that though. I know almost all of their children.)

LEONIDES "Mario" P. DUARTE, SR., 85 years old, of San Bernardino, CA, passed away on Nov. 7, 2007. He retired from Santa Fe Railroad as a machinist after 45 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Leo, Jr., Salvador, & Ray A. Duarte; his daughters, Lucy Olivas, Lydia Morton & Maria Lourdes Duarte; also, 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation will be held on Wed., Nov. 14th from 5-9 pm and Chapel Service on Thurs., Nov. 15th, at 11 am both at Montecito Valley View Chapel. Burial to follow at Montecito Memorial Park.

He lived and died in Mexicali, Baja California Mexico when my husband Vicente Heraclio Duarte was between the ages of six and nine, which would of been around 1970 to 1973. He was with Maria Heredia-Aguirre and they had five children together (Maricruz, Galdina, Vicente, Amelia and Monica). Dad's father's name was also Vicente Duarte and his mother's name was Galdina Tapia. Any information that can help us is greatly appreciated. We're trying to find out if he was a US Citizen. He also had brother's by the name of Angel Duarte and Fernando Duarte!

His father's name was Vicente Duarte-Tapia. He had a brother named Angel and Fernando and a sister by the name of Maria Duarte who apparently lives in the LA area here in California. I am looking for information about Felis M. Duarte, born in Texas. Her father was Perfecto Duarte, mother Novorra Menjarez Duarte. Felis married Juan Rodriguez Navarette, but died in 1927. Her daughter, Lucia was raised by her sister, Maria Andrea Duarte Parras, and the rest of her children were raised by Juan Rodriguez and his new wife, Serbiana. Duarte, born May 8, 1887, probably in Chihuahua,
Chihuahua, Mexico, but possibly in Spain. He fought
in Pancho Villa's army during the Mexican Revolution,
and later fled to the United States. He married
Gorgonia Loya June 22, 1907 in Chihuahua and died
on June 23, 1960. Anyone with information, please
