Du Bois family from France

Surnames: Du Bois, DuBois, Dobbie,
From an aunt I have learned that my family, the Dobbie's were originally from France with the name duBois. One ancestor was with the Norman army of 1066 AD and settled in England. Another ancestor (my branch) fled France with the Hugenots in the 1700's and settled in the North of England and the border area of Scotland. I'm searching for any pertinent information for either branch.
I know that the duBois name was 'Anglicized'
to its present DOBBIE in the distant past, but I haven't any later information further back than my Grandfather, William DOBBIE from Dalkeith/Sandbach area

I have some info on a Jacques du Bois and his brother Louis, both born in Wicres, County of Artois, France, respect. in 1626 and 1627, sons of Chrétien du Bois. Both were Huguenots and emigrated to the USA, in Ulster, New York.

My branch comes from nearby, southern Flanders, early XVI th century and I am trying to find out if these two branches are related.

Hope to hear from you

I am also related to the DuBois' from New Paltz. According to family history sent to me by my great aunt, my line was of the nobility in france until one of my ancesters Christian turned protistant, he was stripped of his nobility. My line left france for new york where they helped found New Paltz. I have to find the information again, it may be helpful as most of those names sound familiar..

Thank you for the information.
Our line apparently originates from what is today Belgium and according to Belgian historians, is not related to the French one. It became part of the nobility in 1672 under the Spanish regime and still is. None of its members, as far as is known, ever converted as protestants. And I am the first one having emigrated to the USA.
But I must confess that there are quite a few coincidences in the history of both.
