Searching for any ancestors of my great grandfather George
Gaylord Double Sr. (b. 1887 PA, d.1995 PA,
Lawrence Co., PA. Wife-Carrie
Macom 1886-1983)
Father: Seth W. Double (b. 1854
Ohio, d. 1911 PA. Wife-Mary Jane
Woods 1857-1935)
Grandfather: John Double (b. abt. 1825 in PA. Wife-Margaret). Found in 1850 and 1860 census but cannot trace further back.
1870 Census shows Seth W. and brother Joseph E. living with Zephaniah (b. abt 1804) & Elizabeth Double. Possibly Seth's grandfather or uncle.
George always said they were from Ireland but no trail to follow.
Any info, particularly on John or Seth, would be greatly appreciated.
