Surname -- Double. I have heard that my surname originated in England, spelled Doble, went to France where they spelled it Doublel, and came to America where they dropped the final "l". Secondly, My mother was born and raised in Salford, England and her maiden name is Cropper and her mother's maiden name is Milner. If someone could help me know what direction to take for the research in England on my mother's side, I' d absolutely love it. Thank you for your help in advance! Deb Blethen
