Over the last twelve months I have been able to break down one or two small walls in the search for my particular DOUBLE family tree.
Henry Double was the son of John Double of Wrabness and Elizabeth Bowen of Swansea in Glamorgan (any ideas on how she came to be in Harwich in 1815? I would dearly like to know). John Double was the son of Thomas Double and Hannah Lapwich of Stratford St Mary Suffolk. (another why did they move to Wrabness query here?),
Thomas was the son of John Double and Tryphena Lewis again both of Stratford St Mary.
If you know who the parents were of this John Double I would love to hear from you. John was born circa 1720.
