I am trying to link Henry Double Born on or about 1830, married to Mary Ann Arben in 1860 to William Double Born in 1802 at Raydon, Suffolk and Married to Louisa Spink 1826 at Horningsheath, Suffolk.

Henry was the father of My Paternal Great Grandfather Albert Double a Mariner, who was born in Harwich, moved to Fleetwood in Lancashire and married Dorothy Peet Pratt in 1897.

He had two brothers both Shipwrights (Carpenters), Harry Herbert and Frederick. Harry married Lucy Hardy Norgate of Hull and had at least 7 children. He was on a ship in Suffolk for the 1901 Census but his wife and children were at home in Sculcoates, Kingston-upon-Hull.

If you can add any links to this chain it would be much appreciated.

Sandra

Looking for the husband of Mary Ann Double b. Raydon around 1830. She moved from Suffolk before 1851 when she had her first of 7 children all born in London. The husband is not mentioned on the 1861, 1871 an 1881 census`s although she states that she is the wife of an upholsterer.

Was Mary Ann Double her married name or, was she born Mary Ann Double. I have a Spreadsheet giving almost 4000 Double names but need a little more before I can be certain which one this is.

Hi Karen
Don't think we can be connected as my family originated in Suffolk and Essex ENGLAND. It's possible that one of the siblings emigrated to the USA at some point but I think that would be a very tenuous link.
A Very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful and Prosperous 2009.

Sandra,

I am researching the same family for my friend, Kevin Double, who is descended from the Frederick Double you mention. Frederick's parents were Henry and Mary Ann. I am trying to find out if there is a link back to Suffolk. I would be grateful if you could get in touch, so that we can share research.

Catherine

Hi
How wonderful to find someone else researching my GG Grandmother and Fathers line. I will give you access to the Tree on Ancestry as a visitor.
Who is Kevin and how is he linked i.e. which of Frederick's children as he and his wife, Sarah Ann Polley had eleven?
So looking forward to hearing from you again.
Kind Regards from a wet and stormy Lancashire.
Sandra
