Hi all,
I see no one has yet mentioned Donais/Deloney/Donet/Doner/Delonais/Donner/Dellone/etc, etc., etc. in
Michigan.
My great-great grandfather,
Antoine Doner (pick a variation, any variation---I've documented at least 10) was b. 1835 Mackinac Island, MI. He was the son of
Antoine Delonie &
Harriet Gifford (aka
Antoine Delonay; Margarith
Griffith). He had one sister, Elizabeth (
Isabelle) that I know of. He was married 3 times (that I know of) and the children I've documented so far are:
(with wife Marie Louise Lessieur) Marie Harriet; Elizabeth Cecile;
Antoine Edward; Zoe Matilda; Alfred Gullianus Co. MI
(with 2nd wife Magdelene
Asselin): Elizabeth Esther
Davenport & Mary Jean
LaLonde (Magdelene's daughters/Antoine's stepdaughters); Then Rose Lucy (my Grandmother); Oliver; and Charles (all listed as
Doner)
(With 3rd Wife Jennie
Taylor, Jennie/Dot J. E. Doner & Laura
Doner.
That's the basic info, but the question is, who were the parents of
Antoine D.....Sr. HE was b. abt. 1813, possibly in Quebec, possibly anywhere!
I can't seem to get beyond this 'brick wall'. If someone has an
Antoine b. abt. 1813 (ANY variation of the surname), PLEASE let me know.
Thank you!
J. King
