I'm not sure if your family is the same as mine. My gr great grandfather was Patrick Dolan. He was born in 1827 in Ireland, came to the US probably around 1850-54, married Mariah Haney and lived in New Baltimore, New York until his death in 1890. My great grandmother, his daughter, was named Catherine. It sounds as if your John Dolan is too young to be part of this family since he was born in 1911 but perhaps there is a common ancestor?

Hi do you know if Catherine was a Gilbride. My ggrandad was Patrick and was married to a Catherine Gilbride. We believe they were also from Cavan and then moved to Glasgow, Scotland. They had 9 children, one of which was Peter who had a son John. Look forward to hearing from you.

Sorry - I don't have any information about who the relatives were in Ireland. Would love to find out more.
