I don't have any relatives in Chicago,Illinois that I know of. I grew up in Traer,Iowa and moved to St. Louis,Missouri in 1963. Where did your parents and/or grandparents come from? My parents originally came from Czechoslovakia.

Hmmmm....this is quite interesting. As I can see on this message board, most of your ancestors came from the Czech. I didn't know of any connection between the last name and the Czech rep. before this. My family has lived in Serbia for more than 200 years and they probably migrated from Montenegro (late 1700s). The last name is supposed to be originaly from there. It is spread in Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Croatia as far as I know.... Any explanations about the Czech? I'm very curious about this, please write if you have any info

Tami- I, too have been trying to track the Dedic side of my family. My relatives settled in MN but as I have been searching, I have subsequently found a number in Chicago. What are the first names you are looking for?

I'm looking for Dedic's from Michigan. My Husbands GGGrandfather was Stanley Dedic he had # daughters I believe and maybe other children. His daughters were Emma Bess and Mary/Marie (my husbands GGrandmother). I'm guessing at the Michigan part but his Grandmother was born in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Any information would be helpful.
