Yes, here are some Minnesota Dedics.

Joseph Dedic was born in Limilkov, Bohemia on June 29, 1858. He marred Anna Pocenik (born in Kornikof, Czechoslovakia on December 25,1860) in Czechoslovakia in 1883. They emigrated to the US (MN) in 1907 and settled in Foley, Minnesota. I would like to gather information on Joseph's parents & siblings. Please e-mail me if any of this shakes your family tree! Thanks!

Jeanie,
It was nice hearing from you. I have a nephew living in Waterloo,Iowa who started to research our family tree in Oct. 1992. He worked on it for a few years and then didn't have the time to work on it anymore. My father was Joseph Dedic(1891-1956 born in Pavlasice,Czechoslovakia) who married Marie Pavlicek(1892-1976 born in Mala Cerna,Czechoslovakia). They lived in Traer,Iowa and had 5 children(George 80,Joseph Jr. deceased,Dorothy deceased,Stanley deceased and me 64. George still lives in Traer and I live in St. Louis,Mo. My dad's grandfather was also Joseph Dedic who married Mary Rosek. I have no dates on them or if they ever came to the U.S. I don't know if there is any relationship here.

Bob, I think I may have come across your Dad in the Ellis Island records. Does this info fit for your family? Josef Dedic (Place of residence=Pawlovice, Moravia) arrived at Ellis Island on March 16, 1910 via the Crown Princess Cecelia which departed Europe from Bremen, Germany. Josef was 19 yrs old and single at the time. On the passenger listing (difficult to read some of the handwriting) it indicates that his father is Antorsin (?) Dedic. It also indicates that his destination in the US was Iowa where his brother-in-law, (Fr Kubik) was located. You can see the information and see the passenger manifest at ellisisland.org.

Are you any relation to a Jan (John?) Dedic? Ellis Island records indicate that a Frantiska Dedic from Paclovice, Moravia arrived on the King Louis on May 1, 1912 and was headed to Traer, Iowa to meet her father, Jan.

Are you related to a Lukas & Filomena Dedic who settled in Chicago?

Cheers! Jeanie (jeaniemoll@attbi.com)

I'm looking for family of Frank and Ann (Cihlaro) Dedic, married 1889 in Chicago, lived in Minn., came to Michigan about 1920. Children were Frank, Anton, Joseph and Barbara. Frank's father could be Frank or John. Would like to know when they came to US and about their parents in Czechoslovaki.

Dear Agnes,
As far as I know none of these Dedic's are related to me. I'm sorry I couldn't help you.
It was nice hearing from you.

Bob
