In 1871 Martha lived in Tower Lane Ashton in Makerfield.
Are you a descendant?
Have you heard the Family story about Elizabeth MIDDLEHURST Nee ADAMSON and her Family who were massacred by Indians in America?
If so please contact me!

Hello Marcus

Could you tell me anything more about your Martha(1817)?
I have a Martha (1840), born at 83 Lodge Lane A-I-M. Her father was Joseph Cunliffe (1813) born in Orrel, Wigan, Lancashire.

I don't have any siblings recorded for Joseph. I wondered if your Martha might be one? His father was Joseph (c1778) from A-I-M.

Best wishes

David

Sorry for the long delay in replying.
I do not think the Cunliffs are connected other than they looked after the Middlehurst boys who survived a massacre in America. Why the Middlehurst relatives did not take the boys in we do not know, perhaps there was just not enough room.
So sorry, cannot help further.
Marcus
