John Cunliffe 1758-1824, was originally from County Lancashire, England. I believe his parents were, George Cunliffe and Ann Singleton.

He married in 1789, Henrico Co., VA. to Esther HUGHES, although they lived the rest of their lives in Chesterfield Co., VA.

I am descended from their oldestchild, Dr. John HUGHES Cunliffe, born 1790, Chesterfield Co., died 1857, Shreveport, LA.
He md. to Susannah S. H. JONES 1818 in Madison Co., ALA.

Their oldest child, sther HUGHES CUNLIFFEwho married to Edwin Harvie CLARKE in 1833 was my ancestor.

Before this i have traced my ancestors back to the "Cunliffes of Wycollar" where my ancestral still lies, albiet in ruins. George Cunliffe (my 5 Great grand father) married Ann Singleton on 13 June 1752 at Whalley, Lancashire, England. They had a son, John, christened 28 March 1758, Whalley, Lancashire, England. John's dates are 1758-1824.

Daughter Virginia Frances "Fannie" Cunliffe 1826-1918
married Henry Kelly (birth date unknown) died 1848 Second husband was Jefferson Carruthers McAlpin.
