the people you are looking for sound very familiar, especially fred culp. i think he was my grand uncle. i did a year of research in 1980 to 1981 on the culp family line to see how far back i could go. it was surprising to find free black men who had endentured themselves, paid off debt, now
holding their own land during slavery.

The Culp family moved to Sharon, Pennsylvania but some of the family is still in North or South Carolina. Fred Culp III is living in Ohio
