I have Antonio Crete who married Jeanne d'Arc Rivest in Englehart, Ontario, in the year 1936. Can it be the information wanted?

Antonio Crete died in 1996 at Peterborough hospital and was inhumated in Bancroft, Ont.

He had a daughter Murielle Crete who married Gilles Coutu in Montreal in 1963.

Hello - Yes I would like to see information on Clementine CRETE and any of her Lagueux children.

Clementine's ancestors go back to Martin CRESTE born about 1550 died before 18 Nov 1595. Some have 2 spouses and I have children for most of them too.

I have that Adelaide Crete was born in 1816 and Married Jean Baptiste Lagasse on 18/10/1837 in St. Hyacinthe, P.Q. Her father was Joseph Crete (b. 22/10/1810 in Notre Dame du Rosaire)and mother was Marguerete Plamondon.
Adelaide and Jean baptiste Lagasse had 10 children, 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Anna Crete Butler was born in 1866 in Iowa with her parents being born in I believe Ohio. The name Crete is so unique, I never dreamed it could be a last name. My question is this Lagueux is french of course, but is there any indian in this name. My grandmother, my mother and her siblings, myself and all the 1st cousins have identical shaped eyes. I was told that it can be indian descent. Can someone help me?

Hello Mary - I sent a long message but I don't know if it got through as I just got notice of a non-delivery but not sure which oe. I keep this one short. My record of Jean Baptiste Cret married 27 Feb 1775 to Marie Therese Robidoux showed quote vf Agathe Robillard unquote

Before that on Lundi 3 Feb 1772 I show Jean Baptiste Cret married to Amable Robillard who died the same year 9 Dec 1772. JB's brother Charles attended.

One other twist to the story is that both marriage records show JB as "fils de feu Louis Cret & Charlotte Maheu de Beauport."

Do we have the same family, with errors or are there 2 separate lines. Have you any ideas Mary or can anyone else comment. Any help would be appreciated.

My husband is descended from Charles-Marie Crete, the son of Louis Crete and Marie-Josephte Maheu. The information I found did in fact list Jean-Baptiste as their son, born about 1750. He is the only one of their children for whom I only have an approximate birth date. I suppose it is possible that he could have been born in 1740, and his parents married in 1741. Not unheard of. My Jean Baptiste was born about 1740 married 1775 toMarie Therese Robidoux and had a son Nicholas married to Marguerite Gendron with parents Louis Crete and Marie Josephe Maheu -- However my records for Louis Crete born 1711 married 1741 to Marie Joseph Maheu donot show a son Jean Baptiste. - It's that link that I'm missing. have not proved 100% this information is correct its just an outline that someoe gave me and that I've filled in from the LDS data. I am looking for my ancestors and there is some confusion. It appears that several generations of the family were illiterate, and the spelling may have been changes from Crete to Crate (since I can find no listings for a Crate family in Quebec). The Crate family were from Ormstown, Chateauguay, Quebec, and my oldest known ancestor, Joseph Henry Crate Sr. was born about 1860 (a guess based on the fact that his son, JHC Jr. was born in 1881). Help, I am looking for information on Adelaide Crete who married Jean-Baptiste Lagasse (Lagace) around 1840 in probably Saint Hyacinthe, Quebec. Their daughter is Anastasia Minier dite Legace, born 6 March 1843. I think Adelaide's sister is Marie Elizabeth Crete born 1821, married Damase (Thomas) Forcier in Saint Hyacinthe 7 September 1841. M. Elizabeth died in Stewart Minnesota 16 Jan 1917. Does any of this make sense to anybody?
