I am just beginning, but I am looking for family history for the Crete and Creste surname. They were from Quebec. I have some history about Jean (Jehan) Creste. It was provided to me but it is only a little. If anyone has anything, please let me know.

I too am looking for that family. The branch that came to America changed its name to Crate about 1900. The farthest back I can reliably get is Joseph Henry Crete born about 1860 in Ormstown, Chateauguay, Quebec. Does this name ring a bell? I would really like to expand this branch.

I, too, am seeking information on the surname CRETE. It is linked to my paternal grandmother's maiden name. She was Aurore "Nora" BARNES nee CRETE on Ottawa, Ontario - died: 1981. My great paternal grandmother was Elizabeth? CRETE nee XAVIER
