Urgently looking for George Acworth, one of three survivors of a Lancaster crash while on Ops over Homberg, Germany, November 2, 1944. My Grand Dad was the pilot (Fl/Lt Ron Cass). Please let me know if he is alive or deceased.
Thank you,
diane cass

I see an ACWORTH connection to Malvern

but this is really the wrong place to ask

better go to news:soc.genealogy.britain

which is both more general and more widely read

Hello:

I was looking into 622 squadron information and saw where you are overseeing research for the unit. My father, William G. O'Brien, was with the RNZAF and piloted a Lancaster in this squadron. He died quite young and never gave us much info about his wartime experiences. We do have a photo of him receiving his DFC with the queen mother and Queen Elizabeth who was probably in her teens at the time. We would be pleased to see if you have any information about him and his activities during his time in 622. Thank you!

Bill O'Brien

Do you have birth details? My Grandmother was an Acworth from London area. It's a rare name but they traditionally had big families, and George could be her nephew, George was a name used in other generations.
Best Regards
