I am trying to find information on my Great Grandfathers Family. All I know is that, Great Grandfather was "James CONBOY", dob 1840.
James was married to "Margaret McHUGH" dob. 1840 and they lived out in Lisdadnan, Mohill. Co. Leitrim.

Does anyone in Mohill have "James CONBOY" in their family line.
Did my Great Grandfather have any Brothers or Sisters?

In the 1901 census on Leitrim-Roscommon web site, my Great Grandfather is shown to be working as a labourer and living in Lisdadnan with his wife and 3 of his children, plus his Daughter in Law ( the wife of James CONBOY, who was our Grandfather) and his Grandson.
John was known as James within our family., and he was married to Nellie Winters

Names from the 1901 Census
(wife).Margaret(61)-.. (son) James(26)- (son). Thomas (18 )- (daughter). Catherine(20)-...Julia(23) dtr. in law-...John (2) grandson

............................................................................................
Surnames associated with the Maternal side of the Family... perhaps there are people with these names in Mohill who might recognise our GreatGrandfather as being related to them.

Conboy... McHugh... McCartan... Winters... Gormly (Gormley)... Holmes... Smullen... Salmon (Sammon)... Lyons... Monaghan... Reynolds... Monayhan... Macguire... Gordon... Prendergast... O'Sullivan

"Griffiths Valuation 1848-1864"
Many of the town(land) pages link to the Griffith's Valuations Indexes on
John Hayes' website, which can be found at:--

http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths.htm

When I checked the web site I was able to find a mention of, " Patrick CONBOY" from Lisdadnan, Mohill. Co. Leitrim. who I believe is my GGGrandfather.

I am a descendant of John Benedict Conboy (1866-1917) of Roosky, Ireland. His father according to the Mormon Website was George Conboy. I am too trying to link our Conboy member to the Conboys listed on the Griffiths page. John emmigrated from Ireland in 1888 to Manhatten, NY and married Veronica Hogan. John owned JB Trucking and Warehousing. The Conboy's according to family members were Irish Catholics that owned land donated from the King of Spain to Ireland and given to the Earls of Leitrim as return of favors. The family rode horses at night chasing people off their land.

Any insight is truly appreciated
