My grandmother's mother's family were the Gibsons. She was from Texas but her "Thomas Richard Gibson" might have come from North of South Carolina. Her male relatives came from a long line of curcuit riding preachers. I have more information, but does any of this fit?

Hi: This was my grandfather and he was from Oklahoma. The family did live in Texas, John Gibson was his brother they would be around 100 now if alive, also Thomas Gibson lived in Texas for a while he was John's son: would have been around 80 now if still here. There is still some family there.

Preaching runs in this family. Some are still working in Hawaii for Grahm that would be from Willie Gibsons family.

So if any if this works out for you let me know.

Sandy

My ancestor Richard Thomas Gibson, I didn't notice the switch in order, was born in Tennessee in 1796. Perhaps he could have been Thomas Richared Gibson's great grandfather. His children were born in Alabama, Mississippi and Texas, between 1829 and 1851. There were 12 of them. Could Richard Thomas Gibson be related to you?

Well Mississippi and Louisiana are getting far closer. I will have to check with my mom to see. Do you have any other names? This sounds like it might fit now due to the Mississippi during that same time period.

Marion is the only one listed born in Mississippi, though AJ may have been. The other children were born in Alabama through 1836. Beginning in 1938 the remaining children were born in Texas which would put the oldest at less than 10 years old. There were actually 14 children though I seem to count 15??? Perhaps a brother of Richard Thomas Gibson started your line.

Just a few more question. Was Thomas Richard born in Oklahoma ? Do you know his wife's name or the names of all of the children. Is there a history of his family coming from Texas?? What county? Was he a Baptist? The "whole" Richard Thomas Gibson family would have lived in Texas at least from 1838 to 1848 as far as I can tell.

Are you referring to a Thomas Richard Gibson with children including: Delilah, George Washington, Marion McDonald, Anderson Meadow, Thomas Decalb, Nancy, Huldah, William Wallace, Elizabeth, Leonidis Durham, Decater, Ruthivan, Ruth, and Cicero?

If so...I have him as Richard Thomas Gibson...but maybe it was the other way around. I descend from Delilah Elner 31 Mar 1826. Love to share information. I have a picture of her and her descendants. Thanks!
