Dear Hereld
My mother's grandmother was Aurilla Minvera Boyle, her father was John Boyle and Aurilla Gregg. For years I thought that Aurilla Gregg was Aurilla Coffin, until a few years ago I took a class in Utah that help me find out that Aurilla Gregg was her maiden name and not Aurilla Coffin (Coffin was the married name of her sister Lydia Gregg Coffin. If you want I can sign you in on my family tree and it will show all my pictures and sources about the Gregg Family. I just got back from Colorado in Aug and found the gravestones of Lydia and Rebun Coffin.
Liz

Aurilla Coffin is not Aurilla Coffin after all. After years of research on who I thought was Aurilla Coffin turned out to be Aurilla Gregg Boyle. What I found out that her sister was Lydia Gregg Coffin. I just found Lydia Gregg Coffin headstone in Longmount Colorado this last week. It took me about 15 years to find this information. I do have a little bit of information about Lydia Gregg Coffin and her husband. Good Luck
Liz

Hi I am a descendant of the Wrights. I can not help you with Peleg's ancestors or sibings. Peleg and Roxy Ann were consistent in the censuses of 1850, 1860, and 1870 listing New York as their place of birth. Roxy's older brother was also born in New York.

I may be able to fill in some gaps for Peleg's descendants for I live in Piatt County, IL.

cmitche75@gmail.com

C.
I tried to do a bit of searching around- not easy when almost everyone has the same name! ;)I can try to narrow it down at least.

William-Craige-Holm is my Great(x4) grandfather. His father was Thomas Coffin, so you can probably knock that name off.

I did find a list of some of the sons of John Coffin and Isabella Child, so here's hoping that could possibly help.

http://www.familyorigins.com/users/s/t/g/Bob--Stgelais/FAMO1...

I hope that helps!

John b. 21 Jun 1768 d. 15 Mar 1838, he immigrated from Ireland.
There son was:
William b. 24 Aug 1782 d. 2 April 1876. m Mary Taylor

Ann Strangman was his daughter married a Dore.

Ann ends up in Newburyport and so does William.
Coffin Family in Palermo / China

I am searching for all information relating to John Coffin b about 1810 (possibly in MA) d 1863 and his wife, Olive W. Bailey (b 1825 d 1907), married 9/6/1845 in Palermo and their descendants.
Their children include: Strateira b 1845, Margarette E. b 1847 d 1907, Alice b 1849, Albion b 1849 d 1914, Llewellyn b 1851, Lawry A. b 1852, Susan E. b 1855, Emma J. b 1858 and Alliseanett b 1862.
Albion went on to marry Mary P. Heath on 09/13/1873 in Liberty, they had Alice A. b 1874 d 1948, Perlie E. b 1876, George W. b 1877, Nellie R. b 1879, Ezra A. b 1881, Benjamin L. b 1886, Viola b 1888 d 1969 and John W. b 1891 d 1891.
I would like to have death dates and / or notices for the missing ones. I have recently found a newspaper article from December 28, 1920 regarding the serious illness of Mary P. Coffin, but have been unable to find any notice of her death.
Ezra A. Coffin is of particular interest to me also, he death date and place has never been found. He married Charlotte May Tobey on 2/13/1908 she died in 1913.
Ezra then went on to be involved with (I have no evidence of marriage) Dora Mary (Dupont) Maynard and they had either 4 or 6 children - the first two are of uncertain parentage; Charline B. b 1915 d 1989, Milo S. b 1916 d 1965, Frances G. b 1917 d 1993, Beulah M. b 1919, Ezra A. b 1921 d 2000 and Winfield W. b 1922 d 1980.
Hello Mr. Pope. It's good to hear from you. My wife and I continue to rescue old photographs and return them to their families. I remember the Coffins well. You have a proud heritage. As you may have noticed, I sent the originals to Priscilla Coffin Baxter. She promised to share them with the rest of the family. If you write to her, I'm sure she'll send you copies.
J.R.

COFFIN, Dinah - Colonial period

In the early Colonial records, the use of the given name "Dinah" seems to be uniquely a COFFIN trait. It may be a female version of Dionis, but it is only found within this group or one they "married into".
Based on this, I am searching for a female COFFIN who might have married a Daniel DUNHAM ca 1700.
Why? He named a daughter Dinah, and it was only used once, in this generation, never carried downward.
He was from Dukes Co MA but the local COFFINs there do not show anyone marrying a Daniel DUNHAM.
This a definitely a needle-in-haystack search, so prefer we speculate privately.
