Bristol for some time. My Great Grandfather William
Honey was married to Ann
Pidgeon 17 May 1869 at the Congregational Independent Glenor
Rey Chapel in Exmouth, St. Thomas,
Devon, On 18 May they left Topsham for
London & on the 21st of May left for
New York City aboard the American Union. They lived in
New York City, then Meadville, Pa. then the whole family returned to
England & there were 2 children born there. Samuel E. Cann was born 10 Feb 1879 in
Bristol, he died 25 Feb 1879 in
Bristol, Somerset,
England & was buried at Arnorsvale Cemetery. Charles
Cann was born 05 Mar 1880 in
Bristol, & was baptized Mar 1880 at Clifton Church,
Bristol,
England. While in
England the family enumerated in the 1881 British Census living in
Bristol at 21 Bouverie
Steet. William's brother George & his family also lived in
Bristol, Gloucester in 1881 & their parents John & Ann were living in Topsham,
Devon with their daughter - in - law Mary Ann married to Reuben & their 3 children. Reuben was enumerated as serving on the Glenbervie as Master
Mariner. Another brother James Hill
Cann was living in
Islington,
London, Middlesex with his family. Our family is tied in with Lady Amy
Collier & her daughter Plymouth

Baker. When they came back to
America the Civil war had been over about 7 years. My one ancestor was in the Spanish American War & was the first one to die after the war was over & had a camp named after him. He was 26 at the time of his death. (John I. Cann).
