I believe that the book to which you refer was by Henry Harbin Byrom. Sadly, Henry passed away this past May. I have updated some of his book and would be pleased to help you search. I don't show a Faris Byrom, so If you can go back a little further, it would be helpful.

My name is Robert Byrom and I am the Faris Byrom. I don't have much by way of records beyond my Grandfather as there were issues involved with his father (whose name I never saw but when I find it I will post it here). Do you suppose I might get in touch with this Byrom book fellow as well, it would be interesting to trace back the steps to my (possibly our) ancestry.

I loved reading your post on Ancestry.com about Byrom Hall.

Edward Pinckney Byrom b. 3/2/1832 in Bedford Co. TN
d. 3/7/1899 in Winchester,Franklin Co. TN.

Pernettia Sernettie "Nettie" Holt b. 12/13/1832 in Bedford Co. TN d. March 1908 in Tennessee.

They were married on January 14, 1851 probably in Bedford Co. TN. They had ten children.

Hi,

I was interested in the info on the Byrom Family. I am not a Byrom but was born and raised at Byrom HALL in Lowton, Near Warrington. My family still live close to Byrom Hall. I believe that an Edward Byrom is buried in the Local Church at Lowton St Lukes, and there used to be a pew in the church with the Byrom name on it. He was supposed to be related to the Byrom who wrote Christians Awake, a hymn. Byrom Hall has a priests hole above the Chimney breast and Oliver Cromwell once supposedly hid in it. This would make sense as he was supposed to have stabled his horses at Winwick, Warrington at some point. Judge Jeffries (the hanging Judge) was also rumoured to have stayed at the Hall. The house is supposed to be the 3rd on this site and the original Byrom's (not spelt this way) came over in 1066 with William the conqueror. My family were told that the Hall used to sit in approximately 5 square miles of land.

A member of the Byrom family once visited us from the US and was writing a book about the Byroms. I have a copy of it. He also had connections with a family at Kercel Cell, near Manchester. I hope this is of some interest to you.

The names you mentioned: Zadoc Byram/Byrom, John Wesley Byram/Byrom, or Moses Byram/Byrom are not names I am familar with. At least I have not come across them as yet. Sorry wasn't able to help you.

Researching my Byrom ancestors and came across a Solomon (not mine though). in 1841 census Solomon was 9. His parents are William and Betty Byrom of Blackburn, Lancashire, England, ages given as 50. Solomon's siblings are Ellizabeth, 15, a weaver, James,13, Jane,3, Levi, 6, William, 15.
My great great grt grandmother is Elizabeth, her dad is William. But they were from Ashton under Lyne/Ashton Willows Lancashire.

I have a Solomon Byrom in my freinds tree (which is public) - he was born in about 1832 near Blackburn Engalnd and died between 1861 and 1871 according to UK census???

There are many Byroms still in Lancashire, but I must warn you that they are not very communicative. I am part of the South African Byroms, descended from Alfred John Byrom, who went to South Africa circa 1904. When I came to live in England I wrote to every Byrom in the Liverpool phone book (where Alfred was born; about two dozen names), but received not a single reply! I have been totally frustrated trying to link up with Byroms in this country, who seem to have little or no interest in genealogy. Good luck, is all I can add.

I think the BYROMs from Preble Co., OH are probably descended through the BYRAM branch. I have some scattered families from the area, most probably descend from a Zadoc BYRAM/BYROM born about 1810.

I have information ob Calvin Sennett Byrom as well as Granville Reed Byrom (father of the Ernest you mentioned) I assumed they were related but do not know who their father is. My Grandmother was Lottie Lee Byrom/Looney married to Edward T Byrom. I believe Jimmy Ray was my Grandma's nephew, Bula's son. Most relatives are from Oaklahoma. Grandfather Edward was born in Texas.
Am just starting to research ancestors and appreciate any information you have. Edward born 1899 and died 1948.

Patsy Holt's (Mary Catherine's mother) was the daughter of Elizabeth Byrom (B. Oct-03-1803, Mecklenberg County, North Carolina) who married Jacob Holt, (B. 1799 in N.C. or GA.) Patsy M. Allen C. Ray (Charles A. Ray) about 1829 in Bedford County, TN.

There does seem to be something here. Both my grandfather and his father and my father were all named William Wiseman. As I have said before my grandfather always referred to his mother as a "Byrom", the only thing is my sister to whom I have forwarded your e-mail also believes our great grandmother to be Hannah Byrom. Our grandfather did speak of 2 sisters marrying 2 brothers, but that does not explain the William which is definately us, buecause we were the only Wiseman's in the Liverpool diocese, at least up until the sixties. Are you living in the Uk? I am in New Zealand and as I said my sister has a house in Ireland but is currently over here for some months buying a house.

We are both very keen to know more and would love to hear from you.
