About the only information I have concerning John Byrom is that he was born about 1730 and died in 1777 at Essex County, Virginia, and is the ancestor of the Byroms of Essex County, Virginia (junior line.) He married Elizabeth (maiden name unknown). He was the brother to Ezekiel Byrom, who is my ancestor. I would enjoy working with you. You can reach me directly at LuTeaPrin@aol.com. Please list "John Byrom" in the Subject line. In the meantime, I'll check with some of the other Byrom researchers I know.
Also, do you have any idea who James Byrom's parents were? For years we have been under the impression that they were Henry Byrom of Parr and Francis Mills, but it now appears that James Byrom was NOT a son of these two Byroms.

I am from Parr, in Lancashire UK originally. I now live in New Zealand, and have done so for many years about 30 since I was 18. My husband is from Champagne in France and we have had a winery here in Marlborough for 22 years.

My great grandmother was a Byrom, married to William Wiseman. We also knew Edith Byrom, a cousin, I think 2nd or some such thing to my great grandmother.

Do you have any other information.

My sister Lynne Addie, has been living in Ireland, County Clare for 2 years and has been visiting, St Helens regularly and searching records and photographing gravestones of our family.

I also have a booklet on the history of Parr, in which our ancestors history is documented. Did you know the family is related to Lord George Byron.

Regards,

Adele Le Brun, nee Wiseman

I am delighted to hear from you. There were two sets of Byrom brothers who emigrated to the United States in the 1690s. The two sets were cousins, going back to Henry 9th Byrom of Byrom. I would like to "talk" with you more. Please email me at LuTeaPrin@aol.com and put "Byroms" in the subject box (I don't open emails from people I don't know unless there is a subject.)
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Ms. LeBrun, Thank you so much for the information. Please send me a copy of the page from The Byrom Chronicle by Mark Byron. I would love to have a copy. I have always wanted to visit England to find out more about our Byrom ancestory. I just can't right now. I have always wondered if we still had any Byrom kin still living in Lancashire or parts of England and where they were buried. I will try to send you a copy of our ancestory line by way of email. Please email me your address.

Thank you,
Cynthia Helton

Henry Harbin Byrom, author of "Some Descendants of Ezekiel Byrom" wrote me last year that our 'Tennessee Byroms' ARE NOT descended from Henry Byrom and Frances Mills of Southfarnham Parish, VA as we have so long believed. There were actually two sets of Byrom brothers who arrived in America from England at about the same time; Henry and Peter (the gunsmiths) and an older brother named John (who arrived earlier than Henry and Peter), and Thomas, William and James Byrom of Prescott Parish, Lancashire, England. These three brothers' last name was listed as "Bereme" on the ship's manifest and they settled first in King and Queen County, VA. You are descended from the youngerst brother (actually a half-brother to Thomas and William), James, referred to as James "The Emigrant" Byrom in some Ancestry.com databases. Your Aunt, Barbara Byrom Driver, and I together with six other researchers have done a lot of updating on the 'Tennessee Byroms," and were as surprised as I am sure you are about the change in our earliest American ancestor, but I am certainly relieved that the correction has been made.
