Funeral services for Frank Britton 46 of 93 Poplar st.,who died yesterday in ST Francis Hospital, after a lengthy illness, will be conducted Wednesday morningat 11 oclockfrom the Poulson & Vanhise Home for services.Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Mr Britton leaves 3 daughtersMrs Walter Litostansky,Mrs Willam Smith and Miss Cynthis Britton, a son Samuel Britton,his parents Charles Britton and Mrs Annie Darrah: 4 sisters Mrs Clyde R hartman,Mrs WIlliam McCauley, Mrs Thomas Bickeland Miss Elizabeth Darrah and 3 grandchildren.

I am related to the Darrah family. Annie Meyers married Eugene Darrah and their children were Charlotte Hartman, Emma Bickel, and Elizabeth Hayden and Cynthia McCauley.

Eugene is my g-grandmother's, Elizabeth Darrah's brother.

HI Thanks for responding , would you possibly have any info on Annie Myers 1st husband _____ Britton, Frank's death cert says Charles from Frenchtown NJ , I just cant seem to find them in the Census , I would like to add Ann Myers birth and death info as well as the britton husband . Frank Britton married into a branch of Britton's from my family tree found it odd and was looking to see if they were cousins out of curiosity .

I have been doing my family history for 30 years and just discovered Frank Britton! It was a surprise. Did Charles and Annie actually marry? I have her obit, her mother's and the Darrah cemetery information. They are buried in Riverview also.

I also saved Cynthia Darrah Britton Drift's obit if you are interested. I was surprised that Charles and his wife, Sarah?, named Cynthia after the Darrahs.

In 1895, Frank was living with Annie's mother, by then she was married to Eugene Darrah.

I dont Know if Charles Britton and Anna Meyers ever married, and there are too many Charles Britton's for me to find with out the 1890 census , I do know that Frank Britton married Susie T Britton ( yes Britton is her maiden name ) Daughter of Cornelius Clark Britton and Minnie Paul , Susie was blind , Frank and Susie had the following children:
Minnie Bertina Britton Litostansky 1907-1957
Helen Louise Britton 1909-1909
Marion Eva Britton 1910 1911
Frank Britton Jr 1912 -1927 (Struck and killed by a train )
Samuel Britton 1914- ?
Anna Britton Smith Papano 1916- 2004
Cynthia Darrah Britton Drift 1919-1990
Robert britton 1921-1928( struck and killed by a car)
Susie died in 1929 most of the children are buried with Susie's Father and mother in Riverview Cemetery .
Frank wasnt a very upstanding man he didnt have a job and there were numerous stories in the Trenton Times about the plight of Susie and her many children having no food or heat and she was also taking care of her brothers because her mother died in 1909 and her father was a drunken jail bird . This Branch of Britton's are my great grandfather Lewis Britton's brothers(Cornelius Clark Britton) family , I did an extended version of the tree with all the collateral relatives inlaws step mother father etc., since it was so hard to find my own direct line , I decided I would do all the Brittons in this family in order to make a printed family history and donate to the NJ and Trenton historical societies , I just didnt realize how much work it would actually be . I did see that Frank was living with his grandparents in 1895 James and Emma Meyers .
Cynthia Darrah Britton Drift is Frank Britton and Susie Britton's daughter so he must have liked his stepfather Eugene Darrah to name his daughter after him . Thats about all the info I have on this family , I do have a ton of info on the Britton family Frank married into (Susie's Family)

Anna B Darrah, 77, widow of Eugene H Darrah, died yesterday at her home, 22 West Ingham Avenue, after a long illness.
Surviving are two daughters, Miss Elizabeth Darrah and Mrs. William McCauley, a sister, Mrs. Cora Peters, two brothers, Reed and James Meyers; 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.,. at the home of Mrs. McCauley of 1330 North Olden Avenue. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery under direction of Edward J Douress.

Hi Wendy,

I just saw your posting. Charles S. Britton married Annie Meyers 8-2-1888 in Frenchtown Hunterdon co., NJ. This was found in the NJ State Archives. Charles' parents were John Britton and Mary K. Stahler. Annie's were said to be James Meyers and Emma Beers.
