William Bresnahan was born in Beverly, MA in 1891. His father Patrick Bresnahan was born in Ireland (Kerry or Cork) circa 1855. Anyone have more information on the latter Patrick.

My great grandfather was from county Kerry, Ireland. I'm not sure when he came to this country. His name was Patrick Bresnahan and he married Josephine Dunn, whose father's name was Patrick Dunn. Patrick Bresnahan's son, John Lawrence Bresnahan is my grandfather and resided in St. Louis, MO, he married Rose Isabelle McCormick. I am just starting a genealogical search. Any info you can share with me would be appreciated.

Virginia: Do you know when where Josephine born? I have Josephine DUNN, b 1879, Wisconsin to Patrick DUNN Catherine (Kate) Mullen. Patrick b. 1822 Ireland, came to WI before 1865. Josephine had 3 sisters--Mary A. (my gggrandma),Ellen Margaret "Maggie".

Kathleen, I don't have a birth cert. on Josephine Dunn, but I know that she was 88 when she died and she died 9July1953, which puts her birthdate at 1865. There is a Will Dunn buried in the family plot, he died in 1921, but I don't know what relation he was to her. My mother remembers that her father's name was Patrick Dunn. She was married 17Nov1883 to Patrick J. Bresnahan and they had 4 children: Edward, William, John and Loretto. All are buried at Calvary cemetery in St. Louis.

Did Patrick have a brother named John born around 1850? And if so did he marry Mary Healey and have a son named Michael Joseph Bresnahan and another named Jock who migrated to Australia?

Rose McCormick married John Bresnahan. They had daughters Nellie and Jennie.
