Kathleen, I am interested in learning more of your
Bresnahan family. My ancestor, John
Bresnahan came to the states from
Cork, Ireland in 1854 with two brothers: Timothy and Thomas. Upon arrival, Thomas was never seen or heard from again according to family tradition. We believe they arrived in
New York.
My gg grandfather John was born in 1836, married Mary
Twomey in Ft. Wayne,
Indiana and had 10 children of whom only 6 lived. Their names were Johanna, John, Mary, Thomas, Patrick and Edward. The names are very similar to yours. John and two of his sons worked for the RR in FW. My ancestors like I said were from
Cork in a small town called Kanturk.
Is there anything here you see that would indicate further research? I guess I'm hoping that the Thomas you are researching is "the" Thomas I've been looking for.
