My father and I are just starting to reasearch our family history. I don't even know where to start!! The last generation that anyone can remember is Joseph Brenneman of Lima, Ohio....Am I in the Melchior line? Or how do I find out?

Hi, There are several Joseph Breneman's listed in the Breneman History Book. Do you have a middle inital, date of birth or death, or even approximate time period that he was in Ohio. Did he live anywhere else? You should be able to get an interlibrary loan of this book. Your library can "borrow" this book from another library, and you can look at it in the library. They will be able to keep it for 2 weeks. That is what I did before deciding to buy the book.
