Abraham's first wife was Maria Reiff. b 7-22-1746, d 3-29-1788; they are buried at Linville Church, which he helped to found. 8 ch: Magdlena, Elizabeth, Melchior, Frances, Anna Barbaraa, Daniel, Abraham, and a daughter who died young.

Melchior, Jr was the s/o Melchior the Pioneer. I suggest you check at a Library to see if you can go through this book. There is much more information than what I have transcribed here. If you are interested in buying your own copy, I got mine from Selby Publishing Co. in Kokomo, IN. They seem to be the most reasonable in price.

This is perfect. Thank you. This definitely matches what I have and matches what I thought to be true. I found this line and it appeared to be correct, but I was trying to find out for sure. I knew of the book, but wasn't sure until now if it had anything to do with me. I am definitely going to get a copy. Thanks again.

While in Switzerland he lived at Ober-Deissach was punished for refusing to abjure his Mennonite belief by being imprisoned in the castle of Thun in 1659. Next he fled to [the Palatinate] Greisheim, 20 miles northwest of the city of Worms in Germany in 1671. He never went back to his nativeland. His sons, MELCHIOR and CHRISTIAN came to America from his adopted home. He resided Cheriessum, Rhein-Hessen, Germany. At 34 years of age MELCHIOR became the father of *Melchior "The Pioneer" Brenneman Canton Bern, Switzerland, ca. 1665.
