Daniel Blouin, père a native of Sézonac, France (son of Jean Pierre Blouin & Marie Baud) married Hélène Chauvin dit Charleville who was born at Kaskaskia, Illinois around 1760, they had a son Daniel Blouin, fils who migrated to St. James Parish Louisiana, his wife was Catherine Lambert. They had numerous children & descendants.

One of their sons, Louis Daniel Blouin married in 1805 Eugenie Judice the daughter of Michel Judice & Jeanne Croizet. This couple had a son named Edmond Jean-Baptiste Blouin, père. Edmond married in 1831 to Josephine Richard the daughter of Michel Richard & Rosalie Michel.

Edmond & Josephine had 8 children
Josephine 1833
Edmond, fils 1834
Alfred 1836
Elizabeth 1838
Adolphe 1841
Richard 1843
Florian 1847
Edmontine 1852

Their 7th child, Florian (1847-1881) married Emilie Marie Dubois (1850-1895) the daughter of Constant Jean Louis Furrate dit Dubois of France & Zulmée Marie Rodrigue of St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana.

Now my focus will be on the children of Florian & Emilie Dubois Blouin all born at Convent in St. James Parish, Louisiana and baptized at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. As you can see with all daughters our line of the Blouin name has died out.

1 - Emilie Josephine Blouin (1874-1953) m. 1892 Louis Algoma Keating. She was also known as Emily.
2 - Noemie Marie Blouin (1874-19??) m. 1895 Leo Apollinaire Landry. She was also known as Mary, Marie, Maria.
3 - Michaelis Marie Blouin (1877-????)
4 - Zulmée Marie Blouin (1878-19??) m. 1896 Armand McCaskey Newchurch. She was also known as Lizzie.
5 - Lucie Philomene Blouin (1881-1904) m. 1899 Jules Oscar Chiquet. She was also known as Lucy, Lucille.
6 - Edna Blouin (born?-died?) m. 1900 Edmond Joseph Hubert. It is possible that Edna was the child baptized as Michaelis Marie in 1877 because I can not find a baptism for Edna.

Emilie Blouin & Algoma Keating were my great-great-grandparents and I seeking any info or connections to the descendants of Emilie's sisters.

Please contact me with any relevant connection to this line jmschex@etigers.net - Thanks in advance

I am reading your message of 19 sept 2003, and if I
understand correctly, Daniel Blouin came from France
directly to the US, therefore that line of Blouin is not
the same as the Canadian ( Quebec)one.
Please confirm

I am a great granddaughter of Emilie Blouin and Louis Algoma Keating of St. James Parish. Their daughter Marie Keating was my maternal grandmother. I am trying to trace back the Blouin side of the family and am stuck because I did not know who Emilie's parents were or wehre they were from. I found some of the problems to be that Emilie's name was spelled Emily, Amilie, and Amily.

I would welcome the opportunity to talk to you further about the Blouin's.

Thanks

I am from Baton Rouge, LA. My grandfathers family were Blouins originating from around Krotz Springs, FOrdoche, and Livonia. Is there any connection between the St. James decents and ours? Thanks alot!

I'm sure that all of the Blouins in Louisiana came from the same family. What was the name of your grandfather & his approximate date of birth? Do you know also the name of his parents? This would help me to perhaps tie them into the St. James Parish family.

My great grandmother, Laura Blouin, daughter of Michel and Celestine Gaudin or Gaudet, married John (Jean) Laplace. I believe Michel was the son of Zenon Blouin and grandson of Daniel Blouin.

Further, I think Michel and Emile were brothers.

Do you have confirmation of any of this?

Thanks,
Bobbye Robert Meaux
