Bonjour Louise,
I think this is great to have all these stories about the Blouin. I leave in the Outaouais region in Gatineau, Québec its about 12 miles from Ottawa. I was born in Richmond, Québec but my mother was born in Hamilton, Ontario. My Grand-Father (Charles-Eugene Blouin) was born at Ste-Martine de Courcelle in La Beauce region, he moved to Hamilton got married and had his family then moved back to the Province of Québec.

Danielle, I find this very exciting, the family is getting bigger all the time. I received a lot of info. this morning from St. Vallier, someone who knows my cousins. I will reply in a moment. You can view it - Blouins St. Vallier, Molsondry. It is very interesting. I have the info. re. Francois/Marie-Barbe Roy and all the children, to my grand-father,but need info. about my father who died in 1941. You must speak French coming from Gatineau. It's a small world. Keep in touch. LOUISE

Louise, I do agree with you that its very exciting to find out that we have so much family all over. To answer you questions yes my mother tongue is french, but of course being in the National Capital Region you have to be bilingual (anyways it helps). Bye for now.

Hi Louise,
You mentioned in your last message #62, the names of 10 children of Hubert and Léonce. You also said that your grand'mother had 15 children; then I add to your list the names of Marie-Anne married to Zéphirin Lemieux on January 16, 1912 in St-Vallier and buried on July 18, 1913, Emile 1895-1912, Juliette and Maurice. One is missing for fifteen, do you know him?
Have you the exact date and the parrish where the marriage of your parents took place? Concerning your father's death the register of St-Vallier gives June 26, 1941 and not July as you told me, and this should be the burial date, can you confirm that to me?
My best friend and brother-in-law is your cousin Jean-Paul, Ernest's son! :-)
If you let me know your E-mail address I will give you more info about me and perhaps I will have some old Blouin family photographs to send you.
Regards, Molsondry

Hi: My parents were married on April 28, 1938 in the parish of St. Raphael de Preissac in Abitibi. My father buried in St. Vallier but as far as the date he died that's what I was told. My mother is burried in LaPocatiere. I would like to give me my E-mail address but not on the web for privacy reason. I do not know how to forward it to you. The same let's not discuss the last two generations for their privacy (only the people who are no longer here). I am in contact through E-mail with someone in St. Lazarre, Manitoba whose lineage is the same as mine. Francois & M. Barbe Roy had Hubert(1) & Alfred, who were brothers, which makes Hubert(2) gr.father & Jean-Adheme of the next generation as cousins as they are descendants of Alfred and Jean Adheme.
This is keeping me busy. Say Hi. to the cousin. Louise

I would like to know more about the Blouin family since I too am descended from Mery/Emery Blouin through three Gabriels and then Guillaume which a census taker in New York mistakenly wrote Dyome. And this name became a surname of Deom in Vermont, then eventually Deo. It was a long hard search! I understand that the Blouin's were one of the original families that helped to settle Quebec and that there is a map of I'le de Orleans with the Maison de Blouin listed. I am interested to learn more.

Hi , my name is Karen. I am from the Eastern U.S. I am looking for the birth place of my ggreat-grandmother Delima ( or Emma) Blouin. She was born on Jan 01, 1847. She also died on Her birthday Jan, 01, 1906 in Lisbon, Me. Her parents were Guillamu? Blouin and Phetoimem? Theverge or Theberge. I would also like to find her place of marriage to Azarie Ledoux in Canada. Azarie was born in St. Denis,St.-Hyacinthe, Quebec on 20 Oct, 1833.His birthdate is a little questionable. One other source stated his birth to be 1844.
The other thing is that I have not been able to find her burial place. I can't imagine that they would have brought her back to Canada, but anything is possible I guess. They had a son , Isaie (or Fred) born in Lewiston, Me. on 1877. To my knowledge, Azarie never made the trip to the U.S. with them for some reason. Fred did, however, make a trip or 2 to Canada while his mother tended their store in Lisbon.
I would like desperately to find the connection by marriage date and place to link my family from Canada to U.S. Thanks for your help. Please respond to my E-mail address if you have any info or anyone else has info. Karen
