Josiah Beeman was also my ggg grandfather through his son David. Heidi, I would like to know where you got the information of 21 Dec 1800 for Johanna's birthdate. Also, do you have birthdates for her 7 siblings?

Hi Karen,

No I have not heard from Heidi. I do not know who Sarah Crane's parents were. All I have is the notation in the book by Ellery Bicknell Crane, Genealogy of the Crane Family, Vol II (Worcester: Press of Charles Hamilton, 1900).page 571, I think:

Moses Crane married 1st, Sarah Peters; 2d, Nancy Stone. he with his eldest son was at one time engaged in the foundry business, and carried on other iron works in New York City, but removed to western New York with his family at quite an early day. He is said to have had a brother Samuel, who was faher of Elijah Crane, the Quaker, in Michigan; also two sisters, one of whom married Mr. Beaman; the other, Mr. Suthard.

Sounds like it might refer to Sarah, but I can't be sure and have not had any luck following up on Moses, etc.

Am always anxious to hear any thoughts on this subject from anyone.

Sally
