The Nellie Beam in my line is the sister of Richard S, Henry Beam and the half sister to Walter Haffner, her father was Harry S Beam. Richard and Nellie were born in the city of York, PA and Henry was born in IL. Richard, Henry & Harry all worked, at one time or another, at the Middletown Air Force Base. I’m the son of Richard, please email me at RRStocks_PA@Yahoo.com. I have been researching this Beam line for over 7 years.

JB- where did you get all of your information at? I am wondering if you have more thani do. It seems that we may be on the same path and that would be super. My dad is George Beam, however he goes by "Rob", and we're in search of the same thing....Who's Henry Conrad's parents. I found on the internet today that Samuel Z. was a son of Conrad and Maraget. We ( dad and I ) didn't know that Henry and Margaret had more than one child (that being George P. Beam). To read that there could be more children was amazing...IF this is the correct line that we're following. PLEASE RESPOND back we would find it VERY helpful. thanks much!!- Adam

Hello Bobby- my name is Adam Beam ( Rob's son) and we have a family Bible that has alot of information in it as well. Some of it (the very begining) is so old that the ink is worn away of the names and dates. Like my dad was saying, Henry was married twice and had 5 children in all...this is where it gets fuzzy for us because there would be James Polk Beam, George William Beam, Samuel Z. Beam, Mary E. Beam and then our g-g-g-grnadfather George P. Beam who then Marries Barbara Jane (Guthrie) Beam....Please reply back!!! thanks- Adam

Bobby- Although my name is George, I go by Rob. I am a direct decendent of Henry C Beam. I have been doing some research on the family tree for some time but haven't gone much beyond Henry. One of the responders was correct that Henry and Margart were from Fredereick County, MD. Both died and are buried there. It appears they had two sons, George Peter and Samuel Z., and one daughter Mary E. Sadly, Henry was married twice. His first wife, Sarah Ann Baugher, died at age 19, in 1826, one year after they were married. Maragret was his second wife and were married in 1827. Samuel was a minister who spent some time in my home state, Michigan (Kalamazoo, Fulton).
I am currently trying to validate that information and then puruse Henry's father and grandfather, etc.
Let me know if you have any information. I'll be happy to share mine.

I'm pretty certain that this particular Edna is not our Edna. According to the 1880 census, our Edna was 6 years old at the time and was born in Ohio. Her father was John M. age 37, mother was Mary age 26, sister was Vessie, age 7, brother was Merrit, age 2 and they had an Irish servant names Katie Kane, age 14. But thank you so much for posting. Perhaps there is a 'cousin' connection somewhere between the families?

Sincerely,
Stephanie Stultz

Hi.
Well I think there are 2 Merritt M Beams...the first one that I know was age 38 in KNOX Co OHIO in 1850.

1850 KNOX COUNTY OHIO
MERRITT M BEAM AGE 38 b 1812 AUDITOR
AMANDA AGE 22 b 1828
JOHN M 7 1843
HENRY 3 1847
EDWARD A 1 1849
ALMIRA GARDNER 17

He was an auditor and also a surveyor and was mentioned in the History of KNOX CO OHIO by Norman Hill (available online)

I also found a "roll of Propery owners for Will Co ILL" 1842
Name, township and range, value of lands and value of personal property:
Beam, Merritt M.......33 9 120 ....

You'll notice his son John M from the 1850 census...which I would guess is John Merritt Beam...(my Beam women had a brother John Merritt). Merritt M Beam 1812 apparently dies around 1854 or so...his wife Amanda married Isaac George.
Here is the 1860 census:
1860 INDIANAPOLIS WARD 5 MARION INDIANA
ISAAC GEORGE 34
AMANDA GEORGE 34
JOHN BEAM 17
HENRY BEAM 12
EDWARD BEAM 12
ELLIE GEORGE 5

In the 1880 CHICAGO COOK CO ILLINOIS census
John M Beam 1843 is married to "Mary" possibly Lillian M
and has children Vessie 7, Edna 6, Merritt 2, unnamed 1m.

So Merritt M Beam 1878 was the grandson of Merritt M Beam 1812.
My Merritt girls' father was Mathew Merritt. I think Mathew is Merritt M. Beam's 1812 middle name. Both girls married Beams...let me know if you want their names.
Do you have an email?
Kathy

Kathy,

I am still very interested in finding out about the Beams and specifically what ever happened to Merritt M. Beam. I haven't done any digging lately, but I have discovered:
1. )Merritt's first wife was Lillian May Wearing. They married in Marion County, Indiana in 1902 and she died in in 1906. The death certificate lists her husband as Frank M. Beam, which according to my grandmother, was the nick-name her father used instead of Merritt.

2.) Lillian is buried also in Marion County, IN in the Crown Hill Cemetary.

3.) The 1880 Chicago, Cool, Illinois census lists a Merrit Beam age 2, Birthplace ILL Father; John M. Beam - birth place OHIO, Mother's birthplace-ILL. We thought this could be our "Merritt"?

I have other odds and ends of info and census information but nothing we can view as concrete. I always wanted to try and find out more about Merritt before my granny died but wasn't able to. I would be very glad if you had some more information.

Sincerely,
Stephanie Stultz

I have 2 Merritt sisters in OHIO that married Beams...not sure if the Beam men are related. I tried previously to discover Merritt Beam's parents linked to either family to no avail...but the name fits so well! So anyway I am not sure...but willing to share if you are still there.
Kathy

Henry W. Beam, Morris Co., NJ

I had a Mary Ann Ader (b. ca 1849) married to a Wesley Sutton. They were from the Tewksbury, Hunterdon Co. or Washington, Morris Co. area. However, I found a record in Trenton which notes Support Payment by Wesley Sutton, to pay on keeping Mary A. Aders, bastard child. I have not found a marriage for this couple and nothing in Census records. Mary was noted having three children in my data: Lewis Sutton (might also be Luther) b. Jan 1868 and married Radie Clawson; Lyman b. Feb 1869 and married Anna Rose Trimmer and Linlow, b. ca 1873 and married Minnie Mary Beam. I also found that Mary Ann married Henry W. Beam on 26 Aug 1876 in Hunterdon Co. and according to 1900 Census, she had 9 children all living at that time. Also, the 1880 Census notes the children with Beam surname. Would appreciate anyone who might have information on this person and anything that might connect her to the Sutton line.

Charlie died in 1893 when my grandfather was a year old(he was willie C. Beam) and Evie married Minor Mitchell shorthly after, as I have been told. Evie had several children by minor mitchell if you but Willie C. Beam in the search on the 1910 census in Frienship it should come up with all of Evie's children. are you related to Evie? maybe we are related as she was my great grandmother. if so where do you live my name is Gaynell Hunt and I live in Sweetwater, Texas.

No, I don't believe Jesse and Evie were married...I have been researching on the premise that since their gravestones are so close to Evie's, that Willie may be related to Jesse. Sorry about the confusion, I was so exited to see a Willie Chandler Beam post that it is a wonder you could comprehend anything I typed. ::grin::

Would you happen to have anything about Evie's parents? I know her father was Ezekiel and her mother was Amelia [don't know her maiden name]. Did Charlie and Evie divorce or did he die?
I don't believe Jesse and Evie were married. I believe she married one of Jesse's sons. The Sam you mentioned could have been Samuel Jasper Mitchell, Minor's Dad. Willie would have been about 5 or 6 when Minor and Evie married and would have known Jasper well. Minor died in 1916 and Evie married Wash Strickland. They had no children together.

You and my half-sis [b. 1943] are pure-surely related. Evie was her Great GM and Minor Mitchell was her Great GF. That would make ya'll, what, half-1st cousins once removed? I get all confused when it comes to the removes. Sorry about the formating, I cannot figure out how to make a paragraph.

// Bev email: IpassingBy@[[same as your regular]]
I am soooo excited. I have been researching the Mason line for my half-sis, and we could never figure out
whose child Willie Beam was. Minor's or Evie's. She remembers being told something about Willie or a son of his, being on
a Navy ship. In the Cemetery at Friendship Church [Hog Mountain Rd to Roberts Crossroads to Friendship Rd Close to Hall/Gwinnett County [GA] line], are Minor's parents and also: A. C. Mason 26 Jun 1836 - 19 Mar 1913; [Amelia C./G., Evie's mom]; Ezekiel C. Mason 17 Jun 1839 - 11 Oct 1916 [Ezekiel Chandler "Zeke", Evie's Dad]; Jesse Beam 10 May 1832 "Rest soldier rest. Thy warfare o'er"; *Martha C. Beam 05 Jul 1835 - 02 Jun 1892; *Jesse A. Beam 30 Dec 1871 - 26 Sep 1875; *DAMA died Mar 1878 [*these 3 names are on one Tombstone]; Bluford Beam 1864 - 1947.

///Bev\\\

I don't have a birth date for him, but he had siblings born in 1820, 1824, 1825, 1827, 1831, and 1837, so he could easily have been born c. 1832. I don't have a wife, etc. His parents were Abraham, borm 9-9-1797, married to Elizabeth Simpson, 1798-1870.

I am seeking more info, which is why I've asked for help. I know that Vieve had a daughter named Louise, by Wm ( I think) duBreuil (sp?). Grandma Louise's maiden name was duBreuil. Louise was born in Indiana, but apparently a court house fire destroyed many records. She married Edward Lysander Styles. Mame married Claude R Bebee, they lived in Indiana and then in Springfield Illinois. We knew Mame as Gainie. Mame and Vieve were born in MI around 1880. Louise was born in 1903, I think. Thank you for replying.

I'm sorry for such a delay in getting back to you. I have another email account for my business that I use most often and forgot that I had this one.

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture. I thought I had 1 of my grandfather, but can't put my finger on it.

My dad, Dale Ray Beam, died when I was 8. My grandfather is Alton C Beam "Babe" and my grandmother was Esther Orluske Beam. They lived in Lakfield, Minnesota. My granfather died of cancer there and my grandmother died while on vacation with my aunt Doris Beam Trembly, in Colorado. I know that a family member has done a family tree back to the Earl of Beamsville who is supposed to be related to me, however, I do not have a copy of that tree.

Sorry I'm not of more help.

Buddy, I am a g-grandson of Francis Marion, brother of William Jasper. My Grandfather was Joel Beam. Susan Alice Beam Armstrong, Minnie Lee Beam Inman, and Andrew Jackson Beam were actually the children of James Scott Beam and Mary Hanson. James Scott (Uncle Jim) was the third brother (to Francis Marion and William Jasper). They had two sisters Rebekah and Caroline. Their parents were Andrew Beam and Nancy Anne McKey. Andrew and Nancy were both born in South Carolina, married in Fayette County, Georgia, then moved to Randolph County, Alabama. When Cleburne County was formed after the war, their community was in Cleburne. I am currently working on my Whites, and trying to sort Susan out. I am guessing that you are a descendent of Jessie Beam and George Walker - Let me know if I guessed right. Contact me directly at usmpcp@att.net for more. Wayne Parrish.
