Dawn Barnett Davis 1967-2009 E. Liverpool, Ohio

Dawn M. Davis, 41, a long time East Palestine, Ohio resident, passed away at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at 1:15 p.m. after a long and determined battle with complications from a stem cell transplant she underwent in July 2009.

Dawn was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on Dec. 8, 1967. She was the second child of Carl and Lynda Britton Barnett and had lived in this area all of her life.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her two children, Benjamin Davis and Madison Bieber, both of East Palestine, Ohio; her two sisters, Laura Pike of Tamworth, N.H. and Rae Morgan of Toledo. She is beloved by her niece, Heather and her nephews, Harry and Ethan. Throughout her recent illness, Dawn was supported by her aunt and uncle, Mary Anne and Larry Britton and family, and many members of the extended Taucher family.

Dawn attended East Palestine High School, graduating in 1982. In October of 2006, she completed her LPN nursing degree, graduating from Columbiana County Career Center with plans to pursue a career in nursing.

For many years, Dawn was a regular, friendly face behind the counter of former East Palestine restaurant C&L Pizza. Later, she operated her own successful childcare business from her home on East North Avenue. Many will remember her as the friend or neighbor who was always available to listen and offer a shoulder of support. Dawn was a doting aunt and possessed enduring commitment as a daughter and sister, always beside her family, adding her unique sense of humor to any gathering, her quick wit and distinct perspective was often the reason behind the laughter at a get-together. Dawn displayed a kindness and generosity of spirit that is rare in the world and her beautiful smile will be missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home in East Palestine, Ohio.

A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Mr. Robert Taucher officiating.

The family expresses deepest appreciation to all of the dedicated doctors, nurses, aides and staff at the Cleveland Clinic, recognizing their countless hours of care and comfort provided for Dawn.

In lieu of flowers, her family welcomes donations to the Columbiana County, Ohio Health Department Cancer Detection Program, P.O. Box 309, Lisbon, OH 44432
Visit www.familycareservices.com to sign the guest register and send condolences to the family.
The reason you have hit a brick wall...Franklin went off to the civil war and never returned. When Nancy applied for his pension she was told there was another woman in Tennessee who had applied for and was receiving the pension. He never came back to Estill Co. She lived with her son, Andrew Jackson Barnett until she died. Andy was my ggrandfather.

Would like to hear from descendants of Nathan J. Barnett.

Nathan J. Barnett was a resident (at least after marriage) in Albemarle County, Va. He was born ca 1808-09, and married Selena

Harris abt 7 Nov 1831 [MB]. She was the daughter of Matthew M. Harris and his wife Nancy. Selena died 1844-1850, and Nathan

did not remarry. By her there were four known children:
Mary Barnett, b 1833-34 (age 16 in 1850)
Virginia Barnett, b 1837-38 (age 12 in 1850)
Julia Barnett, b 1839-40 (age 10 in 1850)
Sydney Barnett, b 1844-45 (age 5 in 1850)

Nathan J. Barnett was a farmer and surveyor. He appears to have resided in the vicinity of Covesville and died there on 11 Jun

1892. He consistently stated that he was born in Virginia and in 1880, that both parents were also.

Have no information on the daughters.

Sidney J. Barnett was born 15 Jul 1844 in Albemarle County, and died 2 Feb 1936. Sidney was a farmer near Covesville. He

married twice:
(1) Annie C. Wheeler, abt 11 Oct 1875 [Lic]. Her age in the 1880 census was 25, and the census showed no children. She died

before Oct 1885. She may have been the mother of James Oscar Barnett (b 27 Jul 1883, d __Jun 1963).

(2) Katie Mix, abt 6 Oct 1885 [Lic]. She was born __ Dec 1860 (according to the 1900 census), and d. aft 1930 census.
CH (2 known):
[1] Oscar Lewis Barnett, b 15 Nov 1886, d __ Feb 1981; m [Lic] 12 Nov 1908 Bettie Ruth Rhodes
CH: Oscar G.
Unknown Barnett, m. Elizabeth

This is my brick wall. My husband's g.grandmother, Martha Charlotte Barnett who married Frederick william Haddon, is the step-daughter of Levi Blanding with wife Elizabeth, according to 1880 US Census, Independent, Barton, KS. Two step-children are Charlotte and Elizabeth. QUESTION: who was Elizabeth Blanding's first husband, father of her Barnett children?

Re: Richard BARNETT, born Derryadd, Co Armagh, Ireland

Yes, it's the same family. I'm afraid I haven't got any further back than John BARNETT & Alice McNEIL. I was told that John BARNETT's first wife was a HETHERINGTON, and they may have come to Derryadd from Co Monaghan. I discovered Isabella's brother Richard BARNETT came to a sad end - if you look up 'genes reunited' you can find full details of my tree there.
I don't know if you are still active on this site. I was searching for info about the Barnett Family in Derryadd, Co. Armagh. I think my ancestor must be related to yours.

I have Isabella Barnett B: 1851, Derryadd to parents
John Barnett, Butler and Alice McNeill. I think this must make Isabella Richard's sister.

Isabella moved with her husband Matthew Warren) to Glasgow between 1875 and 1877).

Have you managed to get any further back than John and Alice?
